I’m again in the minority- I thought our last NB away kit was awesome. Most of the Nike home kits have been nice enough- until this season
This season is a mess. Don't think many will disagree. It's too bad because the funky design/texture/pinstripes I don't really mind. But with that collar and those... spikes on the sides? Yikes.
I like both the away and 3rd kits. Just the home - collar and sleeve hem are horrible. Although candidly, I’ve not spent a dime on a Nike kit
Yeah, I just ordered a fake version of our white kit from a retailer I've had good products from in the past.
Because their share price is down 55% in the last three years and 20% this year. They have seen a reduction in their margins as costs have exploded but revenues haven't kept up. Upstarts are all around, like Hoka, and are eating their lunch as Nike has lost focus on who it's core customer is.
Liverpool expect to make more than £60m a year from new Adidas kit deal https://www.theguardian.com/football/2024/oct/22/liverpool-leipzig-slot-adidas-kit-deal Liverpool expect to make more than £60m a year from a new kit deal with Adidas that will come into effect from the start of the 2025-26 season. The German sports company is to replace Nike as Liverpool’s kit supplier when Nike’s five-year contract expires. Adidas, which last supplied Liverpool’s kit between 2006 and 2012, won a tender process for a five-year contract against Nike and Puma. The club believe it will bring their kit earnings into line with Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea, who all receive about £60m-£65m from deals with Adidas, Puma and Nike respectively. Liverpool receive £30m a year from Nike as a guaranteed base figure. With commercial tie-ins, performance-related bonuses and 20% royalty payments on net sales of replica sportswear, promoted by people such as the basketball star and Liverpool shareholder LeBron James, the total can be closer to £60m a season. The Premier League record is the £90m a season that Manchester United receive from Adidas.
Before people whine about the deal not being as high as ManU - but ManU probably ruined the market on the previous figure, and we expect to make "over" 60m - which means it's probably like the Nike deal where we make much more despite a lower base figure.
Well I for one am happy we are no longer with Nike... some of the most ill-fitting jerseys I've purchased over the years. The neck was usually non-existent or oddly shaped (on my body at least). Plus, my first ever Liverpool jersey was a 94/95 Adidas shirt with Carlsberg main sponsor...
dunno what thread for this .... https://www.theguardian.com/football/2024/oct/31/liverpool-lifetime-bans-ticket-touting-crackdown Liverpool have revealed they shut down 100,000 fake ticketing accounts and issued 75 lifetime bans and 136 indefinite suspensions last season as part of a crackdown on ticket touting. The club said most of the bans and suspensions related to “unauthorised selling of season tickets, memberships or hospitality tickets”. In a warning to fans to buy tickets only through official channels, they said there had been an increase in the number of supporters being defrauded, particularly online. “The number of accounts deactivated includes those cancelled following investigations and others blocked from sales or ballots due to suspicious online activity, or identified as bots,” Liverpool said. “A further 5,670 accounts are currently under review by the club for suspicious activity, including supplying persons who have recently been charged by Merseyside police for fraud related to ticket touting. A total of 1,500 tickets were cancelled across the 23-24 season, either part of mass cancellations or from account holders who had already received sanctions, and the tickets were made available for resale.” Liverpool said they were continuing to invest in anti-touting measures, including through online protection and “more boots-on-the-ground operations”.
