I hope Brendan's had the time to teach some one other than Downing how to shoot :)

It could be worse. We could lose to the MLS All-Stars and Brighton.

I'm jealous, my 11 year old grandbrat is on his way back to China right now so I can't even watch telly with him.

I hope all you sons wishes come true.

    We're at home.
    In Anfield.
40 something thousand 12th men (wimmin and kids)
More 1st team members on the pitch
More likely to get in behind and among their defence
    More likely to score goals
    Gotta watch
Even if only to see if Boney can play with Luis.

Thing are getting serious now, and we're close to the start of the season, so I want to see a clean 2-0 at the very least.

Just now able to comment on the first leg, but I'll stifle almost all of my obviously correct opinions in favor of this: it appeared to me Brendan Rogers is on the verge of a Coach Dale (from Hoosiers) moment with those long balls sent by Gerrard to the front line, many close, none successful. With each pass he looked like he died inside, terrified that we would lose the match playing the way he hates.

Perhaps he was more terrified that we'd 'win' the match, playing the way he hates..:)

For those who are recording from directv, be carefull. they're showing the away (the first) leg prior to the game at Anfield. Don't record the wrong game.

Perhaps BR will sub out the hoofers and not replace them with a sub. Just like Coach Dale. "My team's on the floor."

I've been doing alot of thinking, and I've decided that I really want BR to get Carroll into this one. BR is clearly not a big fan of Andy's style of play, however everything that's went down so far just has to have lit a giant fire under his ass. I'd expect a big game from the big guy is he gets a shot...then hopefully he can turn that into a big year, and help evolve BR's style just as much as BR evolves AC's.

    Just some food for thought.

Not going to happen. Rodgers had made up his mind before he even trained with Carroll. A good game will be written off as only against weak opposition and an average game will confirm his suspicions.

Brendan most likely got the job because of his vision for the club and the owners clearly signed on for that as he's been allowed to shop around Carroll at a huge loss and pay off other footballers contracts rather than retain them.

I think Andy could of been good for us( solid like a Kuyt or Heskey rather than a Torres or Owen) but the only way he'll get chances is if we are having a shit season up front through either injury or form. From a purely selfish reason I hope, even if he stays, he doesnt get a look in as Suarez, Borini and the others are banging them in.

I think Andy gets in when/if he shows he can play BR's style in training.

Finally! Tomorrow we have a match that means something. Most of the recent threads and posts in them are so filled with shit the septic tank need pumping. I know, there's a couple of my turds in there as well.

We need a focus and this should be it.
We need a win and this must be it.

We are all here in Liverpool, looking out on the docks, Caribbean Princess is in the dock and it looks like a beautiful day out of the window. Kids are adamant that we go on the YellowDuckMarine and then we head to the stadium.

My brother from Canada is in the country with his son and my brother in law is bringing all his kids, all in all there will be about 22 of us at the match tonight.

5 goals, Suarez celebrates the new contract by getting three in the first half. :)

22 of yiz. That is a family gathering..! Betcha all have fun, Betcha your boy is excited.

I remember me an Joe taking my 10 year old cuz Michael into the old standing Kop. He spent the match on mine or Joe's shoulders with his hands over his ears. It was a tad loud out there. Michael's son is in the Royal Navy now but he went to his first match with his dad.

Wear somthing red so we'll see you...!

Sounds like Suarez could/should feature in this game. He's probably the sharpest of any of our players, having played three games in the Oly's.

Enjoy the game Scholesy. I'll be looking for the "FSG Out!" sign in the stands! ;)

I am curious to see how we look today. We've had a full week of preparation for this with most of the team. I think only Coates and Suarez missed training this week.
