Perhaps he's not intending it... but he gives himself no chance, for whatever reason, by moving his hand/arm forward and that sweeping the ball away. Think that's gonna be a red just about every time, that movement. IMO. Let's go win this ********ing thing.
I suppose the other thing is that by the letter of the law when it’s DOGSO-handball, intent doesn’t really matter.
Wow, quite the ending to the first half. Definitely a pen but I question whether the handball was intentional by James. Pretty hard to avoid arm contact the way it deflected off his body. Tough luck but I'll never feel too sorry for Chelsea anyway. We've had loads of possession yet created little of consequence until the pen incident. I like Jota coming on cos Bobby was not getting it done today and we've had hardly any penetration into the box. Should be an interesting 2nd half.
Yeah, Seen the replay and yes, he moved his hands. Hope Chelsea don't go into a shell and park the bus.
I’d be a little surprised if Thiago doesn’t come on relatively early in the 2nd. Elliot looks like an absolute player.
Kante taken of hope he didn't get seriously injured in the mane situation. He is an actual likeable Chelsea player
Situation normal for him. lee Dixon talking shite as well. Obviously he didn’t see the shot of him moving his arm to the ball.
I realize that I’m tempting fate by saying it, but 56 minutes in, nothing he’s done has indicated that Lukaku is anything more than a deluxe-level bumslayer.
It doesn’t need to be intentional any more. The new interpretation is once it was handball, it HAD to be a red. The rule: ‘Where a player denies the opposing team a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity by a handball offense, the player is sent off [red card] wherever the offense occurs.’ As I say, once it was handball, it HAD to be a red.
They’ve not been nearly sharp enough this second half. Very surprised they haven’t brought fresh legs on
How does a professional soccer player not have the ability to hit a shot with their off foot better than a grade schooler? It’s ALWAYS mystified me. Is it just being so good with their other one that they just never ever ever ever work on the weak one?
