Thought Kia's statement that Arsenal only have 3 Kia players, Luiz, Cedric, and some kid was interesting. I guess now Willian too. He said that they've got multiple players at every club. I don't have issues with agent relationships as long as we're doing our own independent assessment - the point is you do your own homework and outsource that.
It's possible they blame this all on Cagigao or someone like that, I guess. But a public announcement of investigation into the way negotiations for a transfer were handled doesn't seem to be good news for our man in charge of transfers An opportunity to use my favorite meme:
yeah, it's one thing if we made the decision on a player then use that player's agent to make the deal work. right now, it feels like we're letting said agent dictate who we are bringing in.
so . . . . would you be shocked if raul said, that based on raul's investigation, no wrongdoings were found on raul's action?
"After a thorough investigation, we have concluded that Pepe should have cost over 100m and getting him for only 72m was a steal. Also, Raul should get a raise and a better parking spot and a new coffee machine in the breakroom," said Raul.
i'm okay with the willian signing. according to mcnicholas, arteta specifically requested him. at least, he has looked dangerous every time i have seen him so that helps. other (if any) sales and signing? eh, we'll see.
Not that I have a concrete source on this but a common thing I keep seeing is about Edu looking into the Pepe deal and noticed that more money was spent on agents and people working on the deal rather than the actual player himself.
Happy to have Sanllehi out; I was never comfortable with him. Doesn’t really do anything to ease my concerns over Joorabchian, however.
I’m just waiting for the Ornstein tell all. If Sanllehi was fired, means the Kroenkes have to be involved and, given what we know about how indecisive they are, that strongly suggests something shady in the Pepe transfer.
Lots of talk about how KSE appointed a guy named Tim Lewis back on July 1 as a non-executive director to the board. He's a lifelong Arsenal fan and a big financial guy. I don't see any way this happens without Arteta being on board with it, too. I would think it was those 2 plus Edu that had to be on the same page to convince KSE that Raul had to go.
Seeing reports that Edu approached Lyon for a Duezy + cash for Aouar deal. Lyon rejected because A) they don't feel they need another MF and B) they would prefer a cash deal. If this claim is true, I am really excited we are trying to get Aouar. Hope we can pull it off.
Does this mean the scouting department, or at least parts of it will become un redundant? Aaron Lerner at the Short Fuse was picking up the shake up yesterday. https://theshortfuse.sbnation.com/2...an-edu-gaspar-raul-sanllehi-55-layoffs-scouts
