Seeing rumors that Leicester is interested in Duezy. Let's test their interest and see if we can get one of Ndidi, Pereira or Maddison. Not likely they bite but hey, never gonna get what you don't ask for.

Honestly, if he would drop his wages to a normal level I would be very tempted to take him back.

We need a breakdown of this, because this looks really bad. My guess is that guendouzi and Xhaka don’t play at the same time.

First thought upon reading this was Ronaldo, then I remembered there's no way he's 29. I've completely forgotten about Ramsey.

Ornstein saying that his sources say that the Saint-Maximin link is not true. We may like him but we are not pursuing.

Athletico need to do better with strikers. Chelsea flipped him for billions for him to become mediocre. Morata and Felix too have been avg

Jive are getting a little long in the tooth, there are only a couple of players in their early 20s I’d be interested in. With de Ligt finally nailing down a starting spot, Demiral might be available. The other young player that has some appeal is Bentancur. Other than those two and de Ligt, you are looking at a bunch of older players on overpriced wages.

Read something interesting from Guillem Balague in Spain regarding Thiago. Assume everyone is aware that Thiago has told Bayern that he wishes to leave this summer. It is said that he was negotiating with Liverpool and a price of 32m GBP was agreed. However, Liverpool are supposedly trying to avoid spending on new signees this summer and want to pay in installments with the first being a rather small payment to which Bayern will not agree. The interesting part is that Guillem Balague claims that Thiago wants a PL move and that he has named Liverpool, ManU and Arsenal as his desired locations. Liverpool is evidently out and while ManU may try to get him, they already have a pretty crowded MF with a good bit of salary committed there. I'm not sure if we would be interested but damn he would look really good in our MF.

Thiago has been a great player for a long time, but he's an old 29 in terms of mileage and injury history. Pass.

Another interesting bit of news. 21yo Nice CB Malang Sarr has let his contract run down and is now free to join whatever team he chooses and I've seen reports that Arsenal have made an official offer. He is a little on the short side (6') but is young, athletic and left footed. Could play on the left in a 3 man back line or make an good partner for Saliba if/when we move back to a traditional 4 man line. At 21 he has over 100 caps in Ligue 1.

Ornstein saying Thiago wants to go to London. I'd guess Chelsea because there are some issues there with Jorginho. Thiago is thoroughly out of the age bracket but when he plays he's world class. Would be hard to pass on him at 30mil if that's what his going rate really is

Better that than Partey. Thiago’s game probably ages better too.

For sure, if you are nostalgic for Cazorla days he's that and more. Could see an age curve like Modric's, health permitting

He works on the left side on a back three or as a left back, but he’s not great in the air, so he may be a liability in a back two.

So he can replace Kola. I'd be ok with that. Would kind of prefer to see us stay in a 3-4-3 for awhile as it has been working pretty well.

Vieira coached him at Nice. He's probably not happy to be losing a player, but he could advise Edu on whether or not he is a fit at Arsenal.

I would not miss Kolasinac if he is sold.

Thiago is a great player but we should be avoiding that age group

his wages would also be astronomical and I believe he has had a lot of injuries?

Edit - my cut of point would be 25/26

Personally I think there may be a case for one veteran who can lead/teach the younguns

But it can't be someone expensive.

London, and Chelsea already having Jorginho and having already spent the GDP of New Zealand for this summer’s window.

I kind of feel like you need a blend of ages in midfield

Younger guys a good as they have the legs and will improve, but it helps to have an old head who can lead them and take charge in tight moments.
