We all argue that one poll means nothing. With that in mind, let's post as many polls as we can find, in the hope that a spectrum of polls, on a variety of questions regardingthe 'war," might lead to enough illumination that we can discuss further... I know I know; we can argue about the statistical validity of various numbers, etc. But let's run with it from a data collection standpoint and see if we can glean anything from a multitude of polls... I'll kick it off. From today's Globe and Mail (canada): "Given the swift collapse of the Iraqi government, do you now think the U.S. was right to launch an invasion? Yes 9720 votes (47 %) No 10906 votes (53 %) Total Votes: 20626
Online polls are not scientific polls. Your poll is not credible. I suggest we keep it to reputable, scientific polling organizations.
And could we stay to American polls? I mean sh!t, 99% of Indonesians would say no. I think we want a accurate picture of the American opinion, not Canada's (a non participant).
Poll finds Californians support war with Iraq California is no longer the center of the antiwar universe: A new Field Institute poll finds that the majority of the state's residents back the war in Iraq. Statewide, 76 percent of the respondents either "strongly support" or "somewhat support" military action, according to the poll, which was released by the San Francisco-based public opinion group yesterday. "Frankly, I was surprised," said survey director Mark DiCamillo. "This really dispels the popular notion that California is the 'left coast.' What we're seeing is Americans supporting fellow Americans who are in Iraq, and that supercedes any partisan politics." The survey of 1,006 California adults was conducted April 1-6 and included 471 Democrats and 404 Republicans. Seventy-two percent of the Democrats polled said they supported the war, as did 95 percent of the Republicans. Regionally, 73 percent of Los Angeles residents offered strong or moderate support; 13 percent said they opposed the war "somewhat" and 12 percent said they were "strongly" opposed. In the San Francisco area, 63 percent supported the war, with 10 percent opposing "somewhat" and 22 percent opposing "strongly."
Re: Re: List as many "war" opinion polls as we can You just got suckered by the leftist Globe and Mail: Canada's national waste of paper. Ignore the CBC as well. The National Post, Global TV and COMPASS did a poll a few days ago. The survey stated 75% of Canadians want the government to support the US, even if it is just in writing.
How do they know it isn't more liberal than the rest of the country if they don't give nationwide numbers?
I usually like Universal's threads, but I can't see what we'd ever get out combining a BUNCH of useless information together. Polls are for Clinton and Bush types. Let's stick to the issues.
