The interesting thing about the standard lineup thread is the wide variety of possible starting lineups being thrown out. Collectively we have no real idea what Arena is gonna do. I like that. So why not have a quickie contest? The goal: predict the US starting lineup and subs Arena will use vs Jamaica. Scoring: 1 point for correctly predicting a starter, regardless of where they start. 1 point for predicting the correct starting position of a player. (In other words if JOB starts and you predict it you get one point. You get another point if you correctly predict that JOB starts at.. I dunno- left wing say.) 1 point for getting the entire defense, midfield, and/or forward lines right. Up to 3 points can be earned this way. (Sorry the keeper doesn't come into this.) 1 point for each sub correctly predicted. An additional 1 point for correctly predicting who that player subs in for. Tie breaker: Name the minute each sub enters play. Entries have to be posted by noon ET.

We become weaker when we clear out of pressure that does not make it easier on the defense it makes it harder.

Final Results Before I get to the winner, a couple of items: -Only Bigrose30 nailed the entire starting lineup. -However Bigrose30 didn't get everyone in their right place. So the poster who got the most points just with the starters was UxSxAxfooty with 22 points. -The subs tripped up most people. Most posters got Armas correct. -The Armas sub- when it happened- was the very close tie breaker twice as one poster predicted the sub at 80' while the other (including me) predicted 75'. - 17 out of 18 posters picked Dempsey to either start or (mostly) to sub. Oops! - No one picked Olsen to play. (Well one posters sort of cheated.) Damn! - 2 posters picked Hedjuk. 1 picked Bocanegra (!)- to team up with Pope in the central defense. 4 picked Pope. No one picked JOB at left back. -The poster named twenty got- you guessed it! 20 points. -naming the back line correctly - 13 of 18 posters did that- separated the high and low scores here. Okay, okay.
