I just posted this elsewhere, but couldn't this mean a 3-5-2? Not Torres at LB?

    Howard
    Dolo - Goodson - Boca
    Edu
    LD Bradley Jones Torres
    Dempsey Gomez

Not according to Goff, who I believe is in the locker room with the guys.

    4-3-3.

Klinsi has officially gone off the deep end. If this doesn't work, he's toast.

Ok, it's apparent he basically sees the left back as a midfielder, whether as a wingback (Johnson), or more of a passing type (Castillo). Torres obviously sliding into the Castillo type roll. It shouldn't be too risky against Antigua.... but if this goes wrong... hoo boy, I wouldn't want to BE Torres

No big deal IMO, the outside backs are mainly extra attackers tonight. I'll be nervous if he's still there against Guatemala!

You wouldn't want to be Torres? What the hell is he supposed to do when he's put at a position he's never played before in a WCQ?

Klinsmann is the one I wouldn't want to be if things go wrong and somehow we magically draw this match due to conceding or something.

I'll take it at face value as the 4-3-3 thingy JK has been using off and on, Xmas tree style.

Torres is the obvious emergency experiment at LB. Probably OK vs Antigua. Says something about JK's confidence in Parkhurst, I suppose.

The Boyd starting speculation was wrong. Gomez probably earned it over the 3 friendlies.

    Go USA!!!

Edu will probably be covering for a wandering Torres, no?

You would think. Ideally JK has given **specific** roles to each of the center middies. They better know their jobs.

I actually take it as more of a slight against Gooch (and to a lesser extent Cameron), that he wouldn't be willing to slide an experienced Boca over to the left and start one of them. If that's the case, I disagree with his assessment of Geoff.

Interesting choice. I am not aware Torres has any experince at all at LB. Antigua will give long balls over LB all night to their EPL striker. Shouldn't work, but that's what I'd do.

The funny thing is, I actually earlier today thought about posting that Torres could be used at Left Back for this game, then didn't because I figured everyone would think me crazy...

    Crazy like a Klinsmann, apparently....

    -----------Gomez
    Dempsey----------Donovan
    ------Jones---Bradley
    ------------Edu
    Torres-----------Cherundelo
    ------Boca----Goodson
    ---------Howard

Which will most play like a 3-4-3

    -----Dempsey---Gomez---Donovan
    Torres-----Jones------Bradley-----Cherundelo
    -------------------Edu
    ---------Boca------------Goodson
    -----------------Howard

    risky and/or brilliant

at least JK is entertaining. should be very interesting to watch. apparently the best 11 go on the field irrespective of position. :)

Well, if Jones, Edu and Bradley do their thing Antigua never even touches the ball thereby never exposing Torres to defensive duties. But, you never know.

I'm fine with Torres at LB. Super bummed that Goodson gets the nod over Cameron. Watch out for long balls over our two slow CBs.
    I'm expecting a 2-0 win tonight.
    Let's go Waldos!!

Offensive in a good way. This works. I agree with joelk; best 11 on the field.

I look forward to seeing Torres delivering crosses and free kicks up the left side and Gomez with the hat.
