Add one more player AND one more manager to the list of Americans abroad: Former Hamilton Accies and Alloa striker Scott Pitman has swapped Junior sides just a month after signing for the Broxburn Athletic side that his dad, former Partick Thistle, Dundee and American internationalist full back Steve Pitman manages. The teenage front-man has joined East Region Champions Bo’ness... http://www.scottishfootballleague.com/news/article/pitman-joins-boness/ Scott Pittman appears to be a '92. Don't see mention on the club site yet: http://www.bonessunited.co.uk/ Proud papa Steve was born in the States, picked up some MNT caps and played a bit in MLS and overseas.
I think he was actually an all-star in MLS in 96 or 97. I seem to recall he also played with the Wizards when they signed Mo Johnston and Richard Gough and they made a big (by MLS standards) deal about "the three Scots" and had them all pose in kilts and what not. Hope the son blossoms into a strong player.
It appears that Scott finished the 2011/12 season back at Broxburn playing for his dad. http://broxburnathletic.moonfruit.com/#/results-and-reviews/4516617554
Now with Scottish second-division club Livingston: http://livingstonfc.co.uk/team/playing-squad/scott-pittman/
There is, of course, a good chance that Steve wasn't able to pass his US citizenship on to his son (much like the Potts boys). 2 years after he was born and then 2 years or so before Scott was born. He would need 5 years of residency to pass along citizenship to his son.
He's still at Livingston, which is in Scotland's second division. http://livingstonfc.co.uk/team/playing-squad/scott-pittman/
He's still with Livingston, but the club is now in the SPL. I'd ask for a thread promotion, but he's already here!

Snip: The 27-year-old midfielder clocked up his 200th appearance for Livingston in Saturday’s clash at Motherwell and even the self-proclaimed “quiet lad” could not help but beam with pride when looking back at his four-and-a-half years with the Lions. It is fair to say the local lad has made the most of his second chance in the game. Having been released by Hamilton Accies and featuring just once for Alloa Athletic, the American-born ace slipped into the Juniors with Broxburn Athletic before a short stint at Bo’ness United prior to signing for Livi in 2015 - then in the Championship. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport...-midfielder-scott-pittman-celebrates-20833270
I will amend my earlier statement in that the concept of "expedited naturalization" exists for those US citizens who bring their children who would otherwise be ineligible for immediate US citizenship to live in the US. Steve played in MLS for a couple of years while Scott was 4 or so. Assuming they came over to live with him, he would have US citizenship. https://fam.state.gov/FAM/08FAM/08FAM030110.html Statutory requirements (for all children): A foreign-born child automatically acquires U.S. citizenship when all of the following have been met, regardless of the order: (1) The child has at least one United States citizen parent (by birth or naturalization); (2) The child is under 18 years of age (born on or after February 28, 1983); and (3) The child is residing in the United States in the legal and physical custody of the United States citizen parent, pursuant to a lawful admission for permanent residence The law was changed in 2001 to apply to children born after 1983. He would have been eligible, but might not have realized it because they left the US before the law was in place.

Club legend: Livingston FC is pleased to announce that midfielder Scott Pittman has signed a 2-year contract extension which will see him remain at the club until at least June 2023. Having joined the club from Bo’ness United in February 2015, Pitts has gone on to play 227 times for Livingston, scoring 32 goals – more than anyone else currently at the club. Only Keaghan Jacobs has played more games than Pittman. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/local-sport/livingston-midfielder-scott-pittman-pens-22794437
