Yes boys. Time for a new thread. The Champions of Portugal learned today what their schedule will be like for the new season. We have: HOME FC Vizela (8 August) AWAY SC Braga (14th August) HOME Belenenses SAD (22 August) AWAY FC Famalicão (28 August) HOME FC Porto (12 September) First derby vs. Benfica is in round 13.
Man we went from spending big money on backup RB and LB that seemed like a strange move before we made a sale … To having them both in the lineup in the opening game…. Crazy
It's a crucial position and because of the extra games this season and the fact the position requires a lot of running back and forth, it makes sense to have really good options.
Time flies! But today is the day we start to defend our title. We host Vizela, who return to the 1st division after 36 years. Let's hope for a good start and a good performance, especially with fans back in the stadium to celebrate the defending champions.
Starting XI Adán; Gonçalo Inácio, Feddal, Coates; Ricardo Esgaio, Matheus Nunes, Palhinha, Rúben Vinagre; Jovane, Pote, Paulinho
Our team looks solid overall. Only downfall is Paulinho. Hopefully he regains his form from a couple years ago.
Really good vibes from Vinagre and Matheus Nunes. But struggling otherwise, Vizela pressuring high and forcing turnovers.
And that's why Jovane is a bench warmer and not a starter. No brains. Also, why isn't Pote taking those PKs?
Normally Jovane has been excellent from the spot. But yeah Pote is good too. Also, I have my doubts on that penalty. Ball hits the guys arm while it's on the ground, not an intentional handball
Wow great 2nd goal by POTE… I thought it was Paulinho because they are both wearing orange boots …. Then I realized it was too skillful to be him lol
Jovane is much more polished than he used to be. Less clumsy. But the missed PK is bad. Pote is legit, as we already know. Vinagre looked excellent in his entire game: attacking, defending, crossing, etc.
Matheus Nunes too what a player. I feel if we hold him another season and in CL we can get twice as much for him.
