we are Sporting I think 10 is the magic number from here , any combination of Sporting wins or Porto/Braga losses/draws that add up to 10 should wrap it up
I’ve been really impressed with how Inacio has slotted into that back 3. Quaresma looked like he was going to be a huge part of our team this year and it just hasn’t turned out that way for whatever reason and Inacio has showed great maturity to stake his claim and keep his place in the starting lineup
Yeah Inácio has been quality. Let's not forget how many youngsters we have. Makes things even more impressive with where we are. Anyone see Sergio Oliveira post match comments? lool soak up the tears
"Para o Sporting, empatar contra o FC Porto é como ganhar a Champions League pic.twitter.com/BJZPv3jmaQ— FC Porto da Depressão 🔥🐲 (@porto_depre) February 27, 2021 Quintana dies and all those clowns can do is cry about refs and try to criticize Sporting. Pahlinha wins man if the match and even he pays tribute to Quintana. sergio Oliveira is trash
Who even is Sergio Oliveira lol. Decent player but overrated. Hes just salty they struggle to beat us even more than they do Benfica. People talk about refs all the time. But I can't wait until dinosaurs like SC and JJ are gone from this league. Momento que define o SC! "Contou quantas vezes o banco do Sporting se levantou tambem?""Contei, 4 vezes" "ahhh ta bem" 🤡🤡🤡🤡 pic.twitter.com/G8AVTHP45M— MarekJusk (@marekjusk) February 27, 2021
To add to my point above, Porro shouting out Conceição son - looks like the son is learning his dad's good habits Entendo que pudesse estar com a cabeça quente, tal como eu durante o jogo mas quando o árbitro apita tens que ter valores e respeitar o adversário e chamar me filho da p*** não creio que seja o melhor.Está tudo bem sportinguistas🦁💚. Seguimos 😉. https://t.co/DpQOx9FRJB— Pedro Porro (@Pedroporro29_) February 28, 2021
I’ll never forget the image of Conceição after we beat them for Taça da Liga, I don’t remember if it was in extra time or penalties, but they were ready to die on the pitch for the game. But as soon as it was done and ceramonies were beginning he was pouting with his arms crossed acting like he had better things to do lol I understand rivalries and passion for winning and all that but Porro is right, when the game is done have some respect for your opponent. You can want to stomp their throat during a game but be respectful and graceful in defeat/victory as well. The league is full of sore losers and bad winners.
Hey guys I woke up today and realized we won the Champions League!! At least according to Sergio Oliveira P.s. some interesting stats ✅A última vez que o Sporting não sofreu golos no Dragão foi em 2009;✅Desde 2017 que o FC Porto não ficava em branco no Dragão em jogos da Liga;✅Esta época somente City não sofreu golos no Dragão;Venha o Santa Clara. O jogo mais importante da época.— Sporting Tático (@sporting_tatico) February 28, 2021
To build on these stats too, it's impressive that with 45 goals, Porto has the best offense in the league. Just goes to show you how good our defense has been this season, which is best in the league for a reason. With how much pressure Porto put on them, they still didn't concede, and truly, how much of that pressure resulted in legitimate dangerous chances? 2? I wish our forwards gave us something because the defense and keep gave a chance to win (as they've done almost all season), but holding the game to a scoreless draw is impressive in it's own way as nice as it would've been to come out another 3+ points.
I do believe though that the true meaning of that twitter post is that Man City are favourites to win the Champions League so therefore we are Champions League winners, Sergio Oliveira was on to something
Here's a question. Is this defense one of the best in the clubs history? Last 7 games we conceded 1 goal. Last 10 games I believe we conceded 3. I'm not old enough to remember the previous championship winning teams but I'm pretty sure we're on track to having one of the best if not the best defensive record in club history.
Pretty crazy what a difference a new manager can bring. I was so sure Coates was done and really wanted him gone, but the man has been an absolute behemoth out there.
I think the system has benefitted Coates massively. With 2 other centerbacks he has cover and the full backs are quick to recover too. Great job by Amorim setting the team up. Defense has a good mix of experience and quality, and offense has youth and potential.
Another final boys! 3 points in play vs. Santa Clara at home 1 minute of silence remembering Maria Jose Valero, the singer behind the famous Marcha do Sporting. RIP
