So La Liga Nacional de Honduras has FINALLY Kicked-off!!!!!! Here's how the first rounds of games ended:

    Jornada 1!

C.D.S. Vida 1-2 Parrillas One: Gol de Rommel Quioto por Los Cocoteros, and goles de Horacio Parham y Porciano Avila para Los Telenos. Parrillas One win their first ever game in La Liga Nacional in their debut in La Ceiba. Not bad., I liked what I saw from them aswell.

Deportes Savio 1-0 C.D. Motagua: Only goal of the game comes from Colombian strikeman, Isaac Laso Mina for Los Totoposters. A bitter debut for the new Serbian headcoach for Motagua, where after the game he was complaining about the very dire pitch conditions in El Sergio Reyes. All of this hype for a new Motagua and once again they fall.. no surprises here.

C.D. Marathon 0-2 C.D. Victoria: Goles de Victor Arzu and Wilmer Crisanto for Las Jaibas.. two players who are on my watchlist to have a break-out season and possibly earn a call-up to the NT especially Victor Arzu. Victoria with a dominating performance from minute thirty, to all the way through the entire 2nd half, while Marathon looked very empty once the goal dropped at the stroke of halftime. Marathon are in some deep sh1t.. economically, and on the field.. from the players refusing to practice due to unpaid wages to upset fans boycotting Marathon games.. things are looking really bad and if they don't act soon they might lose their club soon.

C.D. Olimpia 1-1 C.D Platense: Los Tiburones de Puerto Cortes waltz into Tegucigalpa and leave with a draw, thanks to a header from, Javier Estupinan, from a Rambo corner, while Olimpia opened up the game with a goal from "El Flash" Nery Medina off a corner aswell. Some notes. Donis Escober started over Noel, and had a fantastic game!! blocking a 1v1 of Rambo and Jeryk several times.. Edgar Alvarez and Rambo together is possibly one of the sickest duos in Honduras along with Diego Reyes y Rony Martinez at Sociedad.. El Mosky still has his world class speed and Rambo multiple times had chances to put Platense up. tbh Platense entered as the favorite to win La Liga Nacional, but we'll see how both teams do as the season progresses.

Real Sociedad de Tocoa 3-0 Real Espana: Easily the most exciting team to watch in Honduras, Real Sociedad DOMINATED La Makina in all facets of the game.. Opening goal of the game was a beautiful first time volley from Diego Reyes who continues to steak a claim for himself to be in the NT, Second goal came from a very nice in-stride Rony Martinez header thanks to a beautiful weighted loft into the box.. Rony slammed it home in off the inside of the near post, and the third from a wonderful passing sequence that found Martinez whom back-heel flicked it like a CRAQUE to a wide-open streaking Walther Williams who banged it home without hesitation. One thing to add.. Kevin Hernandez was horrendous yesterday.. was a statue all game long and probably the worst goalie of the round.

    Fecha 2:

C.D. Olimpia 5-0 Deportes Savio: Goles viene por parte de un hattrick de RoRo, tambien goles de Rigo Padilla y Anthony "El Choco" Lozano. Domination.. nothing short of it, Olimpia kick-off their CCL campaign next week.

C.D. Motagua 4-2 C.D.S. Vida: Goles de Georgie Welcome, Jose Varela, Cesar Oseguera, y Alfredo Mejia para Los Ciclones, while Romell Quioto and Rubilio Castillo (goal might have been given to Romell Quioto aswell) scored for la conjunto Cocotera. Motagua came out strong against a poor Vida side who will probably once again fight to stave off relegation. Georgie had a really good game.. it worries me if he continues to perform like this because it'll mean he'll be called up.. YIKES!

Real Espana 4-1 Parrillas One: Goles came from Claudio Nicolas Cardozo y joven, Bryan Jairo Rochez.. both with a brace, while the only goal for Parrillas One came from a spectacular freekick off the feet of Mario Ventura. Once Rochez subbed into the game it was over.. they couldn't handle his physicality in the box and his constant movements..at 18 this kid is special!!

C.D. Victoria 0-2 Real Sociedad: Goles de Wilson Guity y Elkin Gonzalez, and Real Sociedad continue to be the most exciting team in Honduras!! their constant one touch passing and triangular plays in the final third.. followed by swift counters and their nifty technical tricks.. this team is really fluid and fast, so far so good from Los Tocoenos.

C.D. Platense 0-0 C.D. Marathon: Exciting game but noone could seem to put their chances away.

    Jornada 3:

Deportes Savio 2-1 Parrillas One: Goles de Francisco Benitez y Oscar Fortin para Los Copanecos y Hector "El Tanqueta" Flores por Los Telenos. Deportes Savio is probably the hardest team to beat on their field due to the fact that their field is beyond sh1t.. They beat everyone there.. and it helps that they won't relegate ever due to that advantage, btw their goalie, Celio Valladares, is an interesting goalie.. this is his 3rd straight torneo with Los Totoposteros and he's pretty young, might be a kid to bring in next cycle if noones left.

C.D. Marathon 1-1 C.D. Motagua: Goles de Rony Flores para La Monstruo Verde y Melvin Valladares para El Ciclon Azul. Motagua looked really good in the first half, unlucky to not put some of those clear chances away, but then again when Georgie Welcome is your starting striker what do you expect? He's had a string of good performances.. really been lively and smart with his runs, but this dude still sucks at shooting the ball into the goal with his feet.. but he can pull off a nice skill move, but absolutely dreadful infront of goal if it involving his head. Marathon played a strong second half, goal line clearance denied them their second, but it doesn't take away from the fact that they still suck on defense and really fail to win the ball in midfield. They really don't get punished as much as they should.

C.D. Olimpia 0-2 Real Espana: Goles de Gerson Rodas, y un autogol de Rigoberto Padillas. Olimpia has played really sh1tty so far this season.. probably has to do with the fact they sold maybe their two most skillful players in Juan Carlos "El Oso" Garcia y Alex Lopez. In offense they look really toothless and are pretty one dimensional about it. Play it out to the wings and square a cross for a hopeful header from Caetano.. rarely were they able to work the ball into the box with El Choco y RoRo upfront. Horrible play from both strikers. Real Espana starting to turn up now.. wonderful strike from Gerson Rodas today.. I mean a beauty one time half volley from Rodas off the play of ex-Olimpista Juan Roman Mejia. Harlington Gutierrez getting the start in defense today, looked really strong in the air on the ball for his age (19 iirc).. he's a kid to look out for aswell as Bryan Rochez who was rested today.

Real Sociedad de Tocoa 2-0 C.D. Platense: Goles de Rony Martinez.. scored a brace. Real Sociedad once again wins and displays a great fluid and fundamental futbol.. I swear they are the funnest team to watch in Honduras right now. Great pass by Celaya to Martinez who showed exquisite skill today on both goals with his fine touches in the box. Celaya is a pretty good player, would like to see more of him, was aware on the wing all game and played a lot of fine balls in. Platense again look too individualistic.. they have the best team on paper, but on the field they don't play like a unit, but whats new when Rambo y Mosky are on your team. So far so bad for the team who was pipped to finish atop with Olimpia another fraud team so far.

C.D.S. Vida 3-2 C.D. Victoria: El Clasico Ceibeno.. Goles de Romell Quito and a brace from Rubilio Castillo for Los Cocoteros, while Ozzie Bodden y Leandro Guaita para los Jaibas Bravas. A very exciting game.. Quito and Castillo are the best striker duo in Honduras, they've really learned to play off each other well. Unlucky that Efrain Lopez of Victoria dripped over his own feet in the box so he slid tackled Romell hideously as an improvisation so he wouldn't get beat.. but either way, Efrain's legs let him down there. Romell a great game, typical black forward in the league.. strong, big, fast with a great sense of goal and awareness in the box and can deliver one hell of a cross from the wing. Rubilio leaner but more technical on the ball and faster.. great header from that Quioto cross. Ozzie Bodden with the nice finesse goal.. one thing I wanna say, Jose Mendoza has been really trash so far for Vida.. I mean this dude should be playing better than what he is now.. so many mishandled balls today and terrible positioning on crosses and freekicks, really lucky to not have been scored on a couple of more times. btw Vida is a really young team, Espinal, Benedith, Quoto, Castillo, Walter Martinez, Onofre.. all young kids getting serious playing time.. kudos to Vida.

La Fecha 4 del LNP de Honduras:

Parrillas One 0-1 C.D. Olimpia: Gol del Anthony "El Choco" Lozano. Very back and forth game.. Parrillas One with multiple shots to equalize or take the lead, but just couldn't manage to keep the ball on target on frame.. can't do that against Olimpia. Best attendance in Honduras so far, Tela really showed their support.

C.D. Platense 1-0 Deportes Savio: Gol de Javier Estupinan. A ghost penalty called for Los Selacios and well Estupinan didn't think twice about burying it into the back of the net. Platense the better team, Savio reacted too little too late, but they did give them a run for their money in the 2nd half.

Real Espana 3-1 C.D. Victoria: Goles de Edder "Camello" Delgado, Claudio Cardozo, y Bryan Jairo Rochez para La Makina, while Kalimba Lopez scored the only gol for Los Jaibas Bravas. Victoria looking very sluggish today, a lot of players resting after their CCL defeat to Tijuana, but for the most part La Makina looked really good regardless.. attacked methodically and in waves and have really found their form in the back. This team is on a tear right now. Youngster Bryan Rochez strikes again.. watch out!!

C.D.S. Vida 2-3 C.D. Marathon: Goles de Sholbin Martinez y Rubilio Castillo para Los Cocoteros, while Jonathan Techera, Marco Tulio Vega, y Rony Flores all scored for Marathon. Sloppy field, but Vida came out swinging first with a great ball from Castillo to Sholbin who scored it.. but then after a series of missed opportunities in and out the box for Vida, Marathon stormed back with three unanswered goals. Despite his team being poor, Rubilio Castillo has really shined and won't be surprised if he moved on to a bigger team sooner or later.

C.D. Motagua 3-3 C.D. Real Sociedad: Goles de Carlos "Chino" Discua, Hendry Figueroa, y Maxmilliano Lombardi para Los Ciclones, while Elkin Gonzalez, Jose Munguia, Richy Celaya all scored for Los Aceiteros de Bajo de Aguan. Motagua up three goals, crashed and burned in the second half as Sociedad came roaring back to tie the game and take a point from Motagua. Sociedad continue to top the standings and are still undefeated 4 games in.

    Fecha 5 del LNP:

C.D. Real Sociedad 0-1 Parrillas One: Only goal of the game came from a Luis Guzman golazo!!! whose volly screamed into the upper right 90 corner of the goal!! This is Sociedad's first loss of the season and first loss in like 20 games at home. They still sit atop the table in first despite their lost. Unlucky to not have capitalized on any of Parrillas mistakes.

C.D. Victoria 1-0 C.D. Platense: Lone goal of the match came from the penalty spot, converted by Victor Ortiz. Platense dominated the first half and were very unlucky not to score, but Victoria fired back in the second and dominated. Los Jaibas get their first win in three games.

Deportes Savio 1-1 C.D.S. Vida: Goles de Aly Arriola para Los Copanecos, while Rubilio Castillo continues to score for Los Cocoteros. Vida probably one of the few teams whom will take points away from the dreadful field in Copan. Castillo with a lucky bounce which he punces on and headers past Celio Valladares. Aly Arriola gets his name on the score sheet after cleaning up a ball crossed into the area in which he slid and made a mess of but ultimately finished in the back of the net. Sloppy game all around.

C.D. Olimpia 2-1 C.D. Motagua: Gol de Carlos "Chino" Discua para Motagua, while an own-goal from Junior Izaguirre and a gol from Carlos Wil Mejia sealed Olimpia their win in El Clasico Capitalino. Okay game, lack luster. Both teams looked pretty bad, but due to their better players off on NT duty for Honduras. Discua's goal came at the tail-end of the game in a nice upper left 90 shot past Reyes, while Carlos with a nicely driven shot past El Gato Canales after a Lozano back flick.

C.D. Marathon 1-1 Real Espana: Gol de Jonathan Techera de Marathon, and gol from Julio "Palomo" Rodriguez de Real Espana. Tightly contested, worthy of a draw.. Techera scores his second goal for Marathon off a deflection on a free-kick, while Rodriguez with a strong header on a corner to equalize the game for La Makina.

    Jornada 6 in ze books!:

C.D. Marathon 1-2 Deportes Savio: Gol de Pablo Rodriguez para Los Verduolagas, while Romario and Angel Pineda scored for Los Totoposteros. Marathon riding their wave of terrible form and once again collect an L, but this time at home to a Deportes Savio team that looked decent in defense but turned it up in attack.. I think Carlos Martinez coach of Marathon might be on his last legs soon if they don't find some results at home and away.

Parrillas One 1-2 C.D. Motagua: Gol de Horacio Parham para Los Telenos, while El Chino Discua y Lombardi fired home para Los Azules. Parrillas One once again falls at home, but to a strong Motagua side who played much better together with youngsters Eddie Hernandez and Ricky Barrios in the line-up. Ricky in particular put in a strong performance, but it has to be said that Motagua did a horrendous job at closing out the game, they let themselves get dominated and Parrillas had no less than SIX opportunities infront of net to push the equalizer. Defending still needs work when other teams mount pressure... also need to learn to retain possession.

C.D. Olimpia 2-1 C.D. Victoria: Goles de El Choco Lozano y Carlos Wil Mejia para Los Albos, while Edder Arias headed home Los Jaibas lone goal. Meh game, Olimpia took advantage in the few times they had clear scoring chances at home, while Victoria didn't take enough advantage of their shots. Vuelto the 15 yr old made his debut in a pretty good game, unfortunately Mejia's goal took a deflection off his foot and into the net, but not much u can do about that. Victoria in a slump, but unlike Marathon's they've actually showed something throughout the game.

C.D.S. Vida 2-2 C.D. Real Sociedad: Brace by the league's top scorer, Rubilio Castillo, para Los Cocoteros, while Henry Clark y Diego Reyes, dispatched the two goals for Los Aceiteros. Back and forth game, really enjoyed it. Rubilio is on great form, the best striker in Honduras currently. Hopefully he can continue this form and ultimately earn a call-up. Ojala no se agrande tampoco. Diego Reyes is one hell of a player. Great goal Saturday night and he keeps showing why he'll be an important player next cycle.

C.D. Platense 2-3 Real Espana: Goles de Javier Estupinan y Bany Lozano para Los Tiburones, while Mario Martinez, Bryan Rochez, y Lester Blanco all scored for La Makina. Best game of the week.. crazy game at that. How do you go up 2-0 and end up losing 3-2.. beyond logic. Mario Martinez put in a great game, once again he scores a MARVELOUS one-time volley.. he seems to be very good at scoring volleys and those amazing goals, but thats about it. He also set-up the young Bryan Rochez with his 4th goal of the season. He's really hustling and looking like a different Mario than the one we seen in Seattle or on the NT. I really like what he's done. Hopefully he can continue to work at getting better and ultimately rejoin the squad.

Jornada Novena del Liga Nacional Catracha!!:

C.D.S. Vida 1-1 Real Espana: Gol de Rubilio Castillo for Vida, while El Zurdo Martinez equalized for La Makina. Rubilio started the game off by winning a penalty, one that was clear as day by Sergio Mendoza who left his foot in the box for any challenge. Rubilio finished the PK off with calm and pose, but Vida were not to be had as Mario Martinez scored a "pretty" impressive free-kick.. I think Jose Mendoza can take some of the blame as he was positioned very poorly and was stuck like a statue. Overall back and forth game, Vida fighting from relegation, while La Makina fighting to gain experience for La Clausura.

C.D. Marathon 2-1 Parrillas One: Goles de Ian Osorio y Mauricio Sabillon para Los Verduolagas, while Luis Lobo strikes again for Los Telenos. Ian Osorio with a great strike to start the game for Marathon in a hampered Estadio Morazan where two light towers didn't work, but the field was still deemed visible enough to play on. Luis Lobo the ex-Real Espana man has been on a tear ever since he's left his old club for Tela.. he scored a nice goal from the top of the box on his left, but Mauricio Sabillon's majestic run that he used to be known for ended the dreams of Parrillas as he sent in a ball to be deflected off a opposing defender and into the goal. Both goals come from their wingbacks, which is cause for concern for a team who just fired their manager this past weekend. Parrillas a step closer to fighting relegation with Vida.

Deportes Savio 3-4 C.D. Victoria: Goles de Jhovany Lasso Mina, Oscar Fortin, y El Bombero Ramirez para Los Copanecos, while Kevin Hoyos hit a hattrick for Victoria along with an Ozzie Bodden gol to spark the heroic comeback for Los Jaibas. Fun game to watch.. glad to see Los Jaibas rebound from the humiliating performance in Mexico for the CCL by storming back to win a game people thought they had no shot of winning after going down the similar scoreline they faced in Tijuana 3-0.. but Ozzie struck back the first goal and it was all uphill from there. Kevin Hoyos is quickly making a name for himself in this league.. he's well on his way to winning the Golden Boot in Honduras. Revelation of the tourney despite him being American-Argentina.

C.D. Motagua 2-2 C.D. Platense: Brace from Georgie Welcome for Motagua, and a brace from Rambo de Leon for Platense. Rambo scores a brace and puts in a very solid performance on the wake of him being snubbed from the NT by Luis Fernando Suarez. Welcome also snubbed from the NT after also putting in a very strong case with two goals. Terrible defenses all around, especially Motagua.. this team is pretty shambolic and it doesn't help that the new coach is starting to cause some uproars behind the scene with players and coaches. This should be a fun next couple of weeks for Motagua. Platense also fired their coach this past weekend, and are also in disarray. Both teams with strong squads, but terrible leadership and planning.

C.D. Real Sociedad 2-0 C.D. Olimpia: Goles de Oscar Melgares y Cesar Celaya for Los Aceiteros de Aguan! Sociedad completely dominated Olimpia in Tocoa and was a repeat of last season where they touched the ball a lot and managed to keep Olimpia at bay with their strong defensive fortitude on the wings. Cesar Celaya quickly becoming a star at Tocoa. He's put in a lot of good performances for a player very under the radar. Oscar Melgares with one hell of a golazo that made Noel Valladares look very foolish as he tried to stop it. Goal from about 30-35 yards out to punish the National Team's shot stopper.

Fecha Once del Liga Nacional de Honduras:

C.D. Marathon 0-0 C.D. Platense: zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Nothing happened.. Platense on the up, Marathon on a steady decline. After Rambo put a hattrick on Olimpia, I guess he couldn't put the team on his back again. Tight race for that 4th and final spot for La Liguilla.

C.D. Real Sociedad 2-0 C.D. Victoria: Goles de Misael Ruiz y Juan Manuel Munguia. Pure second half domination by the home side Sociedad. Victoria relies heavy on crosses and general long balls in the area, no real attack was built, while Sociedad enjoyed majority of possession with real elaborate plays for goal. The defense was in shambles for Victoria and in total was a bad display. This win sees Sociedad retake the pole position in the League from Olimpia.

Deportes Savio 2-2 C.D. Olimpia: Goles de Marcelo Sousa y Romario for Savio, while Roger Rojas and Irvin Reyna scored for Olimpia. A lot of back and forth between these teams prior to their encounter in Copan. Olimpia took the early lead through a wicked volley from Reyna which statued the goalie Celio Valladares. Second half rolled around and Marcelo found an empty net by product of a rebound from a Mina shot, the equalizer at that point, but Olimpia off a corner RoRo deflected the ball that went back into the area and managed to retake the lead, before a long storm delay, which was followed by Romario marking the last minute equalizer from the spot. Olimpia fall to 2nd place with this result while Savio ascend to 3rd.

C.D.S. Vida 2-1 C.D. Motagua: Goles de Rubilio Castillo y Michael Montero para Vida, while Maximilliano Lombardi scored for Motagua. A relegation game essentially, both teams positioned in last place fighting to stave off relegation. Vida with an all-important 3 points that might make a difference later on in the overall standings after La Clausura. Rubilio Castillo continues to be the Leading goal scorer of the league with 10 goals now in 11 games, while U-20 Honduran International, Michael Montero, scored a splendid goal dribble past 2-3 players with an excellent cross body shot. A young and potent team. Motagua continue their woes under first year head coach Risto Vidakovic.

Parrillas One 3-2 Real Espana: Doblete de Luis Lobo with gol from Jefferson Bernardez for Parrillas, while Claudio Nicolas Cardozo y Brayan Rochez scored for La Makina. Luis Lobo scores a double on his old team and puts a smile on his face.. he improvess his goal tally to 5 goals on the season, while Brayan Rochez moves up to 6 and is tied in 2nd place on goals with fellow youngster, Anthony Lozano. Very back and forth game, but the lack of defense on Real Espana again let them down, they have a very good midfield and attack but no defense. Constantly rotating bodies back there to no avail. Real Espana sit in 4th on that last Liguilla spot for now.

C.D. Marathon dead last with 17 points in Liga Nacional.. That would be crazy if they relegate, while Real Sociedad at the top of the table as leaders with 28 points.

C.D. Motagua sack Serbian head coach, Hristo Vidakovic, and make "El Jocon" Reyes the reserves coach, their new interim headcoach..
