Do you honestly believe the month long camp actually benefits the NT? It’s been done many times before with the same results You don’t see NTs like Germany, England, France, etc. doing a month long camp and calling up players in the middle of competition hindering their clubs in both league and Champions League
I can’t remember the exact days off the top of my head but I remember South Korea had 6-8 weeks before 2002 when they reached the semifinals. I remember because it was cited as a reason they performed well, having the advantage of a camp that long vs Italy and Spain who they beat and weren’t able to train that long together. I mean that was two decades ago but it’s some anecdotal evidence. I think Aguirre had extended time before 2002. They did look way more conditioned and had better understanding during the group stage, they played Italy off the pitch. It didn’t help Aguirre from ruining the World Cup in the next round but the process did seem to help not sure how much it’ll help this time with euro players being unable to train. That was another major difference with the mex/korea squads of 2002, mostly domestic players

Still have to win, they beat two euro teams in the group stage including a heavily favored Portugal. It’s a great injustice to the work Hiddink did with that team to reduce it to two calls, they played really fluid, smart football
