I wasnt trying to say America wouldn't have won a long season...just that I prefer a long season over two short seasons with very little break in between. It makes it hard to pay attention long term for me.

When you brought up long season I was just curious to see who would have the most points among liguilla teams, I wasn't trying to prove a point.

I remember Hugo Sanchez years ago on ESPN saying something along the lines of Pumas was the best team of the year and would be champs in a long season format based on points .....but they got bounced in the liguilla....he ain't said shit about their back to back short season championships tho...

 

It’s apples and oranges. Short seasons vs long seasons I mean. Like lineups are different, rotations, etc.
