Aguanta Liga,,la defensa del Flu es agua.A tocar el balon y jugar con la cabeza.En estos momentos tu eres Ecuador, and if you win you will be Ecuador, even though you are not the most popular club in the country.

I will be watching this game .. closely in a few.. if Liga plays like it has in the past then they just may have the game locked... they can't let themselves be scored on.

I am a BArcelonista though .. I aint jumping on the emotional nationalistic bandwagon... but let's see if they can beat Barcelona's record...

Good luck to the guys... they deserve to be where they are...

From the looks of it the Ecuador NT would do better if it was formed with star base of Liga players... and put in key players of Barcelona, Nacional, and Dep. Quito for the spots the internationals hold ... voila!.. you have a a killer NT.

to be fair, tonight's game was of a different level.....ldu had at least 5 national team players on their squad whereas there is no one in fluminese who would make it to the brazilian or any national team....somewhat lopsided, but hey, cest la vie

There is a reason for that my friend... BRAZIL is a gold mine for talent... just like Argentina.. thus many many talents are over looked.. I'm sure if they were an Ecuadorian squad you would have seen Conca and Washington and the Thiago in the Ecua sele..

On the other hand Ecuador is a small country with a much reduced pool of talent to dig into.. so that explains it why all the NT players come from the biggest and best clubs primarily LDU and then nacional, barcelona, dep. quito, emelec........ you don't see guys from espoli, dep. azogues, tec. universitario, Macara, Universidad Catolica etc etc in the NT .. and honestly the chances of that are almost non-existent.

Bielsa, Manso, Araujo... they are Argentinian.. and over looked by Basile due to intense talent pool to choose from in that country.. but if they were to become Ecuadorian .. oh boy.. for sure they would get the call up ... Recently Vera almost became Ecuadorian because he was more than sure to get called up to the NT and for his love of the country... but just in time Paraguay noticed his talent and potential.. so thus he now plays for the first place team in the WC rounds!

From the way I see it .. either team could have taken it .. but Liga played waaaay better. It isn't about who's who of the team- well atleast to some degree! lol

In the final match/s, away goals do not count as 2... a goal is a goal. that's it.

fair enough, we can disagree....but there is not one team in argentina, brasil or colombia were you have 5 national team players.....despite the pool of tanlent from brasil or argentina, you will never find half of the national team on one of their homebased squads...in colombia we usually pull players for the national team AFTER they rise to the top of an international championship (like the copa libertadores) and have left the country to play abroad (for example, cucuta had 13 transfers to foreign teams after last year's copa libertadores, which is why the team sucks now)

point being, yes ecuador is smaller and there is absolutely nothing wrong with having 5 players of the national team on a homebased squad, but honestly, i would not want konka or a guy who has had a heart attack (washington) on my national team...they are playing in fluminese because they didn't make it in some way shape or form

most of boca, riquelme aside, have failed misserably at the highest level (national team) and have dedicated the remaining years of their futbol lives correcting this fact by trying to win as many club competitions as they can

so that i am not mis-interpreted here.....the quality of guerron and bolaños is not something that is typical in a south american side and it will not surprise me that next year ldu looks tottally different because i am sure most of this squad is going to be dismantled to be sold abroad
