why? i thought the article did a pretty good job at explaining things i have been to fire matches there a few times this year, have you?
This is the same article that accompanies very good pictures of Cardinal Stadium during a Fire game and the Fire Fans at last year's MLS Cup Final in the issue of Soccer America with Pablo on the cover. Buy it It's the first issue of SA that I've bought in years.
So let me get this straight, the only town in Illinois that will house this guys gets a resounding cheer of "You suck, Naperville!" Classy.
From a busload of fans from the city who have been drinking the whole way out. That's an important bit the article didn't mention. At least, I'm pretty sure that's the Ginger's Ale House/Bucktown Football bus, right? Later, COZ
Only because no Naperville mom would be caught dead in a Chevy Astro. If you have the Lexus SUV, you're still slummin' it.
it was implied, the author made mention of a bucket of assorted adult beverages or something along those lines
yep, and it's a school bus, so by the time you get to n********e your bladder feels like it's the size of a goodyear blimp. you'd be pretty crass in such circumstances too.
actually we park the jag and the avalanche. only for special nights do we bring them out of the garage.
Once again... those classy Fire fans know how to win my heart over. And yes Coz, you need more cheers.
Razpv mentioned that the sandbox--something I'd never heard before, but think is appropriate--is 68 yards wide. Anyone know how wide the pitch at Soldier Field was?
I didn't think we were trying. No, we don't. Just because they involve mostly the same words/syllables doesn't mean they are all the same. We have plenty, and everyone knows them. Pretty funny to assume we'd take supporting advice from a KC fan, eh?
Isn't Segroves tooling around in an Astro van these days? And how many Fire hooligans can you fit in a mini-van anyway?
Actually, the field at Naperville is only 66 yards wide. (same as Spartan in San Jose) Old Soldier field was 68 yards.
Well that's good, cause it would be a lost cause. Yes, you do. There's a reason why everyone makes fun of you, and hopefully someday, you will realize those reasons. Not just this KC fan, but the LA fans too, as well as the Columbus fans, the DC fans, the Colorado fans, the San Jose fans, the NY/NJ fans, the NE fans, and the Dallas fans too.
I've met a lot of these people. The only ones I would take advice from (of those I've met) are the Colorado fans (the Ratz). There aren't lots of them, but they have a good attitude.
Ok, hotshot. Why is that? Impart me with some of your oh-so-great wealth of knowledge about the subject. 'Everyone' doesn't make fun of Section 8. Those that do are always either not Fire fans (understandable why they poke fun) and/or jealous. Whatever. We're not putting on a freaking broadway show. No sheet. Could it be, I dunno....because you support different teams? PS: I KNOW that no one used a lot of what we do before we did in MLS, but I regularly hear at least Metro, DC, and Columbus versions of some of what we did. I can't say the same about too many of the rest because, well...we can't hear you at all.
