Electric start to the game. Cano just put Flu up 1 x 0. Inter started the game better though. Fabio had just made a big finger tip save.
The start has been electric ... but part of that is due to some sloppy play and lack of tactical structure.
Felipe Melo with a 2nd huge giveaway. This time right near the goalies box. Inter somehow can't capitalize. This is starting to look like destiny.
Damn, two yellows for Samuel Xavier and he's out. First half will end soon but that's the whole second half with Fluminense down to 10 men and one of their veterans out of the next match.
Alan Patrick scored to make it 2x1, but now Cano has scored again to tie it. Fluminense leaving with a draw would be almost a win with the chances Inter had, the goals disallowed and the red card.
Flu were looking dead in the water until that Rene turnover that lead to the corner. Crazy game. Very loose for a Liberta SF.
2x2 in the end. Theoretically good for Inter, since they'll be home for the next match, but it could have been worse for Fluminense. Will be a remarkable story if Diniz can turn this around next week and go into the international break on that high.
When Samuel Xavier was red-carded, I immediately thought of Lúcio - who as we all remember helped Brazil win the 2002 World Cup - getting red-carded in the first (home) leg of the 2013 Libertadores oitavas-de-final between São Paulo and Atlético Mineiro. SPFC was winning 1-0 and had dominated the first half. The result? SPFC lost 1-2, and in the Horto, SPFC was defeated 4-1. I also thought, of course, of last year's semifinal. Palmeiras was easily winning 2-0 at Arena da Baixada until Murilo was red-carded at the end of the first half. Athletico tied it and Palmeiras lost what appeared to be a secure path to the final. Fluminense fans should consider their team fortunate that Cano tied it. The return match is anybody's to win and Internacional, while a decent team, can be defeated at Beira-Rio. Enner Valencia's investidas are dangerous and Felipe Melo needs to stop giving the ball away. If Diniz plays his cards right, Fluminense can very well return from Porto Alegre with a victory.
Good luck @celito Another final for Palmeiras would be a remarkable achievement, both on a club level, but also for Brazilian clubs in Libertadores overall. Don't know why I originally thought this game was yesterday, but one extra day of anticipation can't be great for the nerves. Either way, Palmeiras are the favorites, and I hope they deliver on that. Starting line-ups tonight: Boca: Romero; Advíncula, Figal, Rojo, Fabra; Medina, Pol Fernández, Equi Fernández, Barco; Merentiel, Cavani Palmeiras: Weverton; Marcos Rocha, Gómez, Murilo, Piquerez; Zé Rafael, Gabriel Menino, Raphael Veiga; Mayke, Rony, Artur.
Thank you. I expect an ugly game. The complete opposite of yesterday. Two teams that haven't been scoring goals and haven't conceded much either. Abel going with Mayke and Rocha on the right and Artur still playing on the left where he was been a ghost. Hoping he proves me wrong.
I guess the surprise is that Artur is playing a lot through the middle. It's confusing Boca's defense a bit. But the game is pretty even so far. I thought Barco was going to be injured for this game. He is pretty good.
0 x 0 - HT Both teams alternated good moments in the first 30 mins but Boca were better specially in the last 15 mins. The movement and passing is pretty good. Finishing not so much. If it continues like this Boca will likely get a goal.
This Barco kid is all over the place. Even defending deep. Good player. Need him to pick up an injury quick.
Abel needs to change this. Take Artur out FFS. Put in Luis Guilherme or Endrick. Abel is so damn hard headed. Ref started not calling fouls .
I almost spit my whiskey. Leila and Barros are incompetent in the transfer market. Plus, I think this kid goes straight to Europe.
