I just hope we don’t get shit games . With Atletico and Flamengo involved we probably should get good games .
It’s fools gold. They haven’t been tested. Palmeiras want afforded the opportunity with the officiating. When they played Flamengo, we were missing players due to the Copa America. Cuca isn’t known for his defensive squads and their talent on the back line at an individual level is questionable outside of Arana. Even Everson has shown he is shaky when tested.
Tia Leila v Os Mecenas All pressure on Atletico tonight. We will need a performance like the one against River last year to win today. Unfortunately we might get a performance like we had against River last year ... My expectations are not very high. @V_Park
Saved by the post on the PK. Other than that, an uneventful 1st half. Atletico slightly better. As expected, we have no midfield are relying on the good old direct ball from defense. At least we are defending well enough to keep Atletico from creating chances. You'd think if the long ball is the game plan, that we'd be more precise on those passes. Weverton is a good GK, but he is such a whiny little bitch. He is like the Neymar of GKs.
This game is so much better than yesterday's. Nice goal from Flamengo, but Barcelona has had plenty of chances to score. Goal came a bit against the run of play. Lucky @Mengão86
Second game was much better. At least we countered today. Don't like the way we play, but at least we showed some balls today. Amazingly we are I think now 15 games unbeaten in CL. That's a bizarre record for this group of players. You guys own us @Mengão86 ... so we will be big underdogs in the final. Whoever wins will have material for trash talk for a long time. Not sure if you preferred us or Atletico in the final. I was actually kind of curious about a Flamengo x Atletico final.
Preferred you guys based on recent history, but we also had been owning Grêmio and they stole a win from us in the Brasileirão. Renato’s team is susceptible to playing poor on occasion more often than JJ, so it’s hard for me to put a good amount of confidence. I think Flamengo x Atletico would have been a better final in terms of play style for the neutral spectator. I am still traumatized by the choke jobs of not too long ago in the Libertadores, so let’s get by Barcelona first.
See you in November @celito. Not sure why CONMEBOL maintained this compressed COVID schedule date for the final. Anything can happen in nearly 2 months….
@celito @Mengão86 Congratulations. Your teams, along with Atlético Mineiro, have been the best teams in Brazil for some time now. Had Atlético Mineiro reached the final, it would not have been unworthy given the futebol they've displayed. Other teams, including my SPFC, lack the resources your teams have had. You guys have loaded rosters. It's impressive and enviable. I am glad that o Futebol Brasileiro - to me, ainda o melhor do mundo - will present a second consecutive Libertadores final. I have a soft spot for Flamengo because of my memories of 1981 (I have shared this here before; as a child, other than the World Cup and the Sunday loteria esportiva highlights on TV). I have very few memories of soccer from my childhood, although I do remember of course all the teams' names. I had wanted Flamengo to defeat Liverpool in 2019. As for Palmeiras - it's a rival of SPFC, but acontece que eu não nutro a rivalidade muito com o Palmeiras. I respect Abel Ferreira not just for his work but for his demeanor; his humble speech after Palmeiras beat Santos showed a sincere and honest man. Renato Portaluppi works hard as hell, but let's just say he's quite a different type of person. On one hand, the defending champion - um time cascudo with tons of experienced, tough players and who knows how to get the job done even with low scores (except the 3-0 vs. São Paulo in the quarterfinals). On the other, the 2019 champion, a team packed with incredible talent and who has scored 18 goals in the knockout round so far. It's going to be a great game. Good luck to both teams. It's good to see teams from Brazil play at this level.
Abel is a hard worker, but humble he is not. At least not in his role as coach. I have no clue on his personal life. He is a disciple of Mourinho and shows many of his traits.
Congratulations to Palmeiras! Sad for the elimination in Libertadores, but confident that the title of Brasileirão will go to Belo Horizonte. GALO!
2 days to go ! Are you guys ready to be suffocated by our defense ? @Mengão86 @Ombak @IVO ! ? Vamo ganhar Porco !!! @V_Park
Valeu ! Eu não achei que íamos defender tão bem. Vcs sempre criaram várias chances de gol mesmo com nós na retranca .
