I can't get enough of Cerro in this libertadores, I'm more exited about the game against tolima than our game agains newells, I'm having a blast watching them lose like this and for them making the league look bad, they are doing the same thing that Nacional and Guarani do every year.

So far we have as qualified: Brazil = 3/6, with a good chance to make it a perfect 6/6. Argentina = 3/5, with little chance for Arsenal and Tigre. Paraguay = 1/3, with a likely 2/3 if Libertad beats Tigre again. Colombia = 1/3, may be 2/3 if Tolima beat hapless Cerro & Garcilaso loses @ Santa Fe. Uruguay = 1/2, one qualified, one eliminated. Mexico = 1/2, one qualified, one eliminated. Ecuador = 1/2, one qualified, one eliminated. Peru = 0/2, one eliminated and one with a chance to go through for a 1/2. Chile = 0/3, two already eliminated, Huachipato must beat Gremio at home for 1/3. Bolivia = 0/2, Strongest has a slim chance still. Venezuela = 0/2, and likely to remain that way. Good Copa for Brazil (as expected). Not as bad as it seemed at first for Argentina. Paraguay and Colombia would be par if they get 2 out of 3 each. Ecuador should have done better, too bad Liga didn't make it --they were better than Barcelona. Bad Copa for Chile, even if Huachipato makes it. Good for Peru if at least one goes through, otherwise 0/2 would be par. Not so good for Mexico squeezing only one through. Repeats trend from last year. Par for Bolivia and Venezuela to have none.
we won 5-0 in quito awhile back something the nt could never dream of doing im more then sure we would have done a much better job then cerro if we where in their place

Tijuana are confirmed with the #9 ranking (best record of group runners-up) Olimpia likely to be #3 and can do no worse than #4 (Santa Fe would become #2 if they beat Real Garcilaso at home, and Nacional can also overtake Olimpia but they have to beat Barcelona by 4-5 goals) Atletico Mineiro are #1, as previously mentioned.

São Paulo defeats Atlético Mineiro 2-0 at home and thus clinches a round of 16 berth. Arsenal's home win against The Strongest by 2-1 is not enough. Of the six Brazilian teams in this year's Libertadores, four are through. Grêmio and Fluminense tomorrow can make it 6 of 6.
Nacional's loss in Guayaquil to Barcelona confirmed the top five rankings. And with Gremio and Huachipato to face off on Thursday, it means that Sao Paulo will be ranked last thus setting up a rematch of tonight's game. #1 Atlético Mineiro (BRA)................. -v- ................. Sad end for Libertad: Benegas saw red at the half hour mark, and a penalty a few minutes after sealed their fate: 5-2 winning Tigres, away. With Cristal beating Palmeiras 1-0 at home, Tigres jumps from third to group leader on the last day. PS: Penny, Sporting Cristal's keeper, has been remarkable today. He's stopped all sorts or shots. Libertad scores, 3-5. It's over in Lima.
Yup, thanks to the last second goal by Velazquez, the Brazilian team ends first of Group 2. Next, Group 8 closes this stage of the Libertadores.
If Flu beats Caracas, the Leaders Table would be: 1. At. Mineiro 2. Indep. Santa Fe 3. Olimpia 4. Corinthians 5. Velez 6. Flu 7. Nacional 8. Palmeiras And ff the Gremio/Huachipato doesn't end in a tie, we'd have: 9. Xolos 10. Gremio/Huachipato 11. Garcilaso 12. Emelec 13. Newell's 14. Boca 15. Tigre 16. Sao Paulo If they tie, Gremio is 2nd and #15.
Chile had many mines managed by the British pre-WW2. After, some of those corporations moved to the USA or got absorbed by US-based companies. Since the region was known for the iron ore, and US Steel controlled mines in the area, it sort of makes sense. The Pittsburgh Steelers also got their logo from US Steel for the same reason, the main foundries and central offices of US Steel were in that city.
Gremio scores. And with that, right now Brazil has 4 group winners and 2 runner ups. Matter of fact, Brazilian clubs have only finished second to other Brazilian clubs. A clean sweep.
If both Brazilian teams keep their wins, the octavos will look like this: A: 1.Mineiro vs. 16.Sao Paulo B: 8.Palmeiras vs. 9.Xolos C: 4. Corinthians vs. 13.Newell's D: 5.Velez vs. 12.Emelec E: 2.Santa Fe vs. 15.Tigre F: 7.Nacional vs. 10.Gremio G: 3.Olimpia vs. 14.Boca H: 6.Flu vs. 11.Garcilaso PS: And Huachipato ties it on a FK @ 87'. So everything changes!
