Iran 1 - Morocco 1, Iran wins on PK 4-3.

Here is a write up from http://www.iransportspress.com :

"TABRIZ- September 17 (IranSportsPress.com): The National Football Team of Iran are through to the final of the LG Cup after beating Morocco in a penalty shoot out after a 1-1 draw in the normal time.

Iran started the game brightly and could have scored through BakhtiariZadeh’s header only after 2minutes. Seconds later, Iran nearly reached the first goal of the game, but Nikbakht’s cross was defended well. Iran had 5 more chances in the opening 20 minutes, but each time the chances were wasted by the Iranian strikers.

It was only matter of time before Iran’s first goal. And that came after 26 minutes, when Mohammad Nosrati made an excellent cross from right, and the cross was headed in by a Moroccan defender, giving Iran a deserved lead. Iran scored again in the 34th minute, but the goal was rules out for offside.

Iran started the second half well and Mobali had two shots in the 49th and 53rd minute but they both went inches wide. But these two were the only chances of Iran in the second half as the Iranian team tried to hold its 1-0 lead, and Morocco came into the game, and could have scored after 68 minutes after a defensive mistake by Iran. Morocco managed to level the scores in the injury time at the end of the game with a header, and the game had to be decided by the lottery of penalty shoot out.

In the penalty shoot out Ali Daei, Javad Nekounam, GolMohammadi, and NavidKia scored for Iran and Iran won the match 4-3.

IRAN- MirzaPour, Badavi, Kameli (Lotfi, 77), BakhtiariZadeh (Mobali, 67), Nosrati, GolMohammadi, Nekounam, Nikbakht, Mobali (AzizZadeh, 90), Kazemian (NavidKia, 67), Daei

    Damn...

Iran is my favorite to win the AG gold... after all these tough drills, who can stand up against them?

So I-S, is the AG entry finalised?

    Who are the 3 wild-cards?

Mr.Kim, they are not finalized yet, but it will probably be:

    Ebi Mirzapour (Goalie)
    Yayha Golmohammadi (Defender)
    Ali Daei(Striker)

hey man. Nothing much. Just my Engineering class is screwing me real hard. Ill try my best to come more often, but I got an @** loads of work and also on top of that I actually decided to play for my team in the league (like the idiot that I am). So then I got 2 and a half hour practices taken away from my study times. And my weekend is screwed cuz that is when I have games. I got Mario Sunshine a while ago. Man that is a beast of a game. But I havent been able to play it after my classes started so now I am sad :( .

Anyway, I got like 3 and a half months left till this crappy term ends then I will be free and we can return to preaching the glorified and omni-powerful message, which is the Gamba-Eses alliance.

Not yet. I think the Professor is gonna wait til as late as the Thai Tournament to see who he will field. I am strictly against Ali Daei in the line up, but we have used him for SOOO long that we have never really been able to find a successer for him. And now that he is 32 we dont have much time to look. There is Vahid Hashemian of Bochum, though. He is one of my hopefuls. But currently he is busy duking it out with Christainsen for first spot on the team.
