They don't - unless Al Fayed takes his money and runs or Preston get promoted. Both events are relatively unlikely.

Let's give DMB a chance. If the transfer window is about to close, somebody has to step up to the plate. C'mon, Europe, don't be shy.

I heard this theory too, but then why Kirovski have to go through all the WP hassle when he moved to Birmingham?

The heck with what he wanted. For my purposes this move is two years overdue...

I believe the JK situation, as well as the one Eddie appears to be facing, isn't so much getting a work permit, as much as it has to do with revising some paper work at the home office. And with all government agencies, it takes a few days to get it done.

I'm waiting for the Intellivision release. Until then, I'm playing on my Timex Sinclair!

But, if the WP appeal is after the transfer deadline, does the transfer still go through, or must it wait until the winter session? I know what the article says, but I'm also wondering how this would effect Beasley to whom even in EPL.

No, it goes through since the transfer was before the deadline.

I wish Lewis a lot of luck at Preston. He will be linking up with Reggae Boyz star striker Ricardo Fuller who has already scored 3 goals in 5 games with them. I think Preston will have a very good chance of moving up to the Premiership next season. Let me hear your comments please.

Well, who knows. Just for the record Eddie Lewis has played in 14 of the last 27 "A" matches in the approximately last two years. Significantly below 75%, though much higher than JoKi's 14 or so percent.

First of all, it seems crazy that a work permit would not be awarded to someone who just played in the World Cup for his country (and played pretty well in the second round game, I might add). It's even crazier that the reason the work permit needs to be appealed is that Lewis didn't play in 75% of his countries matches. And why didn't Eddie play many of these matches? Because Tigana wouldn't let him go! I'm sure the work permit will go through on appeal, but the logic here seems convoluted.

    Ermm...,

I don't think that was the only reason.Without getting all MNT N&A on ya,
Eddie had some piss-poor performances in WCQ which got him left out of the mix till the Gold Cup.

As Buff said, the transfer stands, and he could well play next weekend.

Tigana wouldn't let Lewis go, as was his right, for a pre-World Cup friendly that doesn't even count in the 75% requirement. Fulham - like any other club -were required to release Lewis for competitive games, if he was selected.
