    2nd goal..

"And once again Lewis had a big part to play. Swinging in a fantastic cross Cartwright arrived late and planted a powerful header across Warner."

"Lewis was having the game of his life, and almost scored a jaw-dropping third. Picking up another superlative O'Neil pass and running at the Miwall defence like a slalom skiker, but his shot didn't match the run and tricked just wide. If it had gone in it might have been goal of the season."

Shot by Eddie Lewis (Preston) curled left-footed from left side of penalty area (20 yards), missed left. Preston substitution: Eddie Lewis replaced by Tyrone Mears (injury).

From the BBC. What's this about?

I tried to find something on the injury but I can't seem to find anything.

At the end of the first article, Craig Brown says Lewis picked up a "dead leg", whatever that is. Preston don't play again for two weeks, so unless this sets up a McBride-style chain reaction of medical problems, I expect he'll be fine.

He picked up a dead leg...

Kinda reminds me of the old Monty Python "cannibalism in the Royal Navy" skit;)

Isn't a "dead leg" just British for a nasty "Charlie-horse"?

Am I the only American who's heard of a dead-leg? I dont think its a British term. It is a Charlie Horse. And it can leave a nasty bruise on the thigh.

    no, no you're not...

...and it's more commonly referred to as a thigh contusion these days.

And the Aussies refer to it as a "corked thigh". All one in the same...

If it's no serious than that, then Lewis will be available for PNE's next game.

Anyone know where a video clip of Lewis' goal would be available on the 'net? Sounds like a pretty sweet strike...

    Cheers,
    William

i'm not up-to-date with the 1st division standings, so where does PNE stand? eddie and PNE have had a good run lately so i'm only guessing that they are creeping up the table.
