Only saw this one on the telly (highlights after pubs shut) but looked like a good performance from the lads.

Shola really seems to come good in these games - let's hope he can carry it on to Premier League matches. Also good to see LuaLua on the field and playing well.

Did LuaLua do any back flips? :)

Where are the rest of you lot to chime in about this match?

LuaLua did his customary mulitiple somersault to celebrate his goal. He also made the first goal by beating several defenders and crossing for Shola.

He missed a good chance for another goal by shooting over the bar when Dyer passed to him.

Ahem: Yay! But I hear that we were playing against their reserves side. True?

Not quite as bad as that, but after Toppmoller was fired at the weekend, the acting coach made a lot of changes to the team.

He has also been quoted as saying that he is not interested in the Champions League and wants the players to concentrate on avoiding relegation from the Bundesliga.

Still, that's their choice - I won't say no to another three easy points next week.

With Inter and Barca in turmoil as well, there still is a chance for the lads to make it to the Quarterfinals. Perhaps Bayer will wake up after the Toon beat 'em at the SJP next week.

    Yaaaaaaa-************ing-hooooooooo!

    Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.

I could care less what Bayer squad they were playing; it was their home turf, and we were without our key tandem of Big Al and Craig.

    Here's to Shola and LuaLua!!!
