You just have to add an insult to every post, do you? I mean you're making an ok point there, just cut being a wanker after it. Would serve us all. Thank you.

To add my two cents Capello has been desperately trying to find the perfect eleven and when he thinks he has found it he then doesn't change anything (even if the players could be wearing out, or youngsters being given too much responsibility too early) untill they play two bad games or someone gets injured. The negative thing about Capello is he is too strict, you need to have some flexibility. For instance this latest Guti row: I know Guti is a character but is it really necessary instantly start to whoop him instead of discussing with him first.

I can't help thinking that the Guti incident is something blown up out of all proportion by the press which is pushing this "hardman Capello upsetting the players" line at the moment.
I would guess its the sort of incident that goes on every day at training in clubs around the world.
Hard to say really, unless there is a vid of it.

the press are all saying "whats wrong with capello, what is his problem?" but the real question should be..."what is wrong with guti?" we all know guti is no shy little angel. but the spanish press always seem to trow stuff out of proportion...way out of proportion.

either way i think this should be our lineup:

    -----------------Casillas------------------
    Ramos-----Helguera----Cannavaro---Torres
    --------------Diarra---Guti--------------
    Raul-------------Higuain------------Robinho
    -------------------RVN---------------------

Reyes is both underperforming and hes injured, so its better to leave him till second half. same as gago hes a bit injured so leave him in the bench aswell.

To be honest Guti is a brat. He is without a doubt one of the most immature31 year old footballer these days. He had all the talents and tools to become a truly world class player, but his childish antics and drive have prevented that from happening. Sure you can show him some sympathy due to the whole galactico policy, but when Guti was given a chance he never seized it. He would have a string of good games as a sub then be completely abysmal when he was given his chance to start.

Even though Calderon is a ********ing idiot, his comment about "Guti has alway's been a promise" is right.

Only problem with your lineup is having Raul on the right. He's completely useless out there.

So all that happened was Guti hurt his ankle and wanted to go off, but Capello refused, geez that is headline news alright.:p

    ------------Casillas-------------
    Ramos---Canna---Ivan----Torres
    --------Diarra----Gago---------
    Reyes/Becks------------Robinho
    ----------------Raul----------
    -------------Ruud-------------

If Reyes is not fit give Becks a shot, and sub Higuain for Raul and Gago for Guti early 2nd half.

Leavante are an ok side and I thing they will just survive this season and avoid the drop, still hopefully we can score at least 2 goals this game.

disappointed to see that many of you wish to drop Higuan already. He's barely been here a month, and IMO he looks very lively. Why does everybody seem to want to drop him??
(u know even RVN has only scored 1 in the last 5 league games... i think he needs a rest)

It appears that Guit will sub for Gago and Raul for Reyes. That would be a very attacking line up compared to in the past. I just hope Guti can roam forward and create chances... not just sit back and act purely as a DM.

    Yeah - Marca link: http://www.marca.com/edicion/marca/futbol/1a_division/real_madrid/es/desarrollo/735169.html

    -------------Casillas-----------------
    -Salgado-Helguera-Cannavaro-Torres-
    --------Diarra-----Guti---------------
    ---Higuain----Raul----Robinho--------
    ---------Van Nistelrooy--------------

Ramos rested, Reyes and Emerson make bench. Disappointed for De La Red. If not at home to Levante when Gago and Emerson are unfit, then when? Glad for Raul though.

I think Guti is going to play a more advanced position. He failed at the DM position. Look no further back than to the Seville game, where he last played there. He is at his best when he is a CM. The position we were playing him with in the begining of the year was too advanced for him. He needs to see the field to be effective. I think we have to use his creativity to the utmost degree because he is all we have in the department.

True .. We might play with Diarra doing a holding midfielder job alone, with Guti, Robinho and Higuain/Raul in front of him and playing 2 strikers .. This oculd definitely be the most attacking line-up's we've fielded in a long time ..

    ------RvN-----Raul/Higuain----
    --Robinho--Guti-----Higuain/Raul
    --------Diarra----------------
    TOrres-Canna-Helguera-Ramos (if fit)
    ---------Casillas-----------

    Real Madrid 2 - 1 Levante

i think this fixture can really kick start a series of good results for us and which is going to help in building the character of this young team ... i really hope we score more gols than one this time and we must have the courage and guts to come from behind.. coz if u cant come from behind then u cant win a trophy and we desperately need a trophy this season and i think this game will be the major stone to build our empire of success this year and i really think we can win la liga....

Yes nassar, I hope this game or perhaps the next one helps us start to build an empire of success (mmmm, I like the way that sounds.) I'm an optimist but I'm not convinced it will all happen this year, but hey, each game seems to be a new adventure, anything can happen. It will be interesting to see how Guti does back in the lineup. (I fixed yer post so that your formation came out the way you meant :) )

I'm also curious to see how the old guard mesh after being out for awhile. This lineup seems promising, good mix of young and old...Sad to see Gago and Ramos out, and I'd like to see Torres on the right and Bravo on the left, I just don't like Salgado at all. I actually think Raul will come off the bench for this match, super subing for RVN. And Dela Red will come on for Guti at about 66minutes. Reyes out for Nieto, especially if its a lopsided match. I really would like for R.Carlos to come back, so we can see a Torres-Ramos-Canna-Carlos back line, both sidebacks can attack, which we could use right now.

I think Higuain will play as RAM if Raul and Ruud starts the game as well....iirc HIguain tends to take the ball on the right wing and then cut inside...:)

Should be a good match to watch....

    LISTA DE CONVOCADOS:
    Porteros: Casillas y Diego López.
Defensas: Salgado, Ramos, Helguera, Pavón, Mejía, Miñambres y Torres.
Centrocampistas: Diarra, Emerson, Guti, y Nieto.
Delanteros: Raúl, Robinho, Van Nistelrooy, Higuaín y Reyes.

Cannavaro out with the flu, Ramos practiced this morning but it appears his ankle was still bothering him a little bit? Gago and Bravo injured.
    I think we'll see:
    Salgado/Helguera/Ramos/Torres
    Reyes/Diarra/Guti/Robinho
    Raul/RVN (*or Higuain?*)

If his ankle is truly still bothering him, I can't see Ramos playing at RB. I think Capello would place him in the center to replace Cannavaro for this game, although I'd prefer an injured player be given sufficient time to heal.

Neito? Wow! From what I have heard, they said he was going down to play with Casitilla along with De la Red. I guess Capello really doesn't want to use Becks then. Believe it or not, Neito might be considered for the starting eleven. I don't think Reyes is going to play this game after his poor showing in the last game, and Raul will most likely be up front with Ruud van Nistlerooy. There are two options to fill that vacancy on the right: Higuain and Nieto. Nieto is obviously a natural midfielder, and has impressed when he has been given the chance to. It does make sense to have a striker on the bench now, so one of Raul or Higuain should sit on the bench. Since Raul is going to start, well then, just maybe, we'll see Nieto... I can dream can't I. After all, this is a home game, and it's not like we are playing Barca. He has to start somewhere. Anyone agree?

I'd like to see this lineup, similar to Nassar's on a previous post:
    Salgado:( - Helguera-Ramos-Torres
    ----------------Diarra-----------
    -----------Guti-----------------
    Reyes------------------Robinho
    ----------------Higuain----------
    -------------RVN--------------

Subs: Raul for RVN, Nieto for Reyes/Robinho, Minambres for anyone, see what he looks like out there.

Minambres is a right back. If he starts in place of Salgado in your proposed lineup, I'd say Salgado might as well pack his bags.

Exactly. That would be the lowest point in his career. To have a young player who just came back from two serious knee injuries start in front of Salgado is humiliating to him, although he hasn't exactly made a case for himself this season.

Well, he's 26 or so now. Plus he was totally crap. I'm glad he can continue his career (but somewhere else).
