    Dear Dallas Burn fans,

Before my wife and I depart on our new and exciting journey I just wanted to
write a short letter to let you know how important you have been to me.
First of all, I want to thank all of you for your support over the past five
seasons. I am really proud to have represented all of you in the best manner
possible. I feel like there has always been something special about the Burn
fans that has helped us to find success on and off the field. Your passion
has always given me extra motivation. The unconditional support you've shown
has always acted like a extra source of energy. We have had a lot of good
times, and some tough times. What's important is that we shared something
together that I will never forget, and for that I want to thank you. I wish
you all the best for the future and thanks again.

    Sincerely,

    Matt Jordan

    Nice

We all know professional sports is a business but it's nice to hear from a player who feels some connection to the fans that paid his salary and support the franchise. Nice thought.

I'm glad he has the chance to follow his dream of playing soccer in Europe.

I met him a couple times after a game - he always made time to say hello to fans and did so with a smile on his face.

Classy guy. He will be missed. He can come back anytime.

3rd Degree, very nice. Matt seems like a class act. I always go to your website for Burn information. What is with the their home page? Very uninformative. No mention of Matt at all. Or for that mattter, much of anything.

Dunno, but I stopped going to the Burn site when Gator was introduced.

    Bad practice.

    He was indeed classy

The most uncomfortable part of my job is going into the losing locker room and having to get quotes from coaches and players.
I've still got a tape in my desk drawer of someone, who I won't name, who threw out every curse word imaginable in a brutal post game tirade.
It's either that or often players who are so upset that flat out refuse to comment at all.
Any reporter who has ever covered the Burn knows that there are professionals in the locker room who no matter how tough the loss still have the professionalism to address the media and fans for that matter.
Jason Kreis is one of those professionals, So was Richard Farrer and so was Matt Jordan.
While the outcome of the matches doesn't matter to me dealing with Matt Jordan's professionalism will be missed.

Did that afore mentioned tirade come from a carcinogen spreading melanoma for Atl.National in Equador?

I doubt it, I don't think the afore mentioned player knew how to speak English. Me thinks it was someone else, possibly still with the team. Otherwise, maybe ToLo would have said who it was.

Touching and classy letter. MLS is doing something right if they're producing athletes like that. Thanks and Kudos to Matt Jordan. We all wish you the best in Europe.

P.S. Nice to see Tobias posting. I love your work! You do an exceptional job of writing a story and your frequent Burn exposure is very much appreciated. Thanks and Kudos to you too!

MLS needs more people like these two. They are exactly what is right in sports, and what it should be all about.

Man, I would've loved to hear that tirade.

    And I'm guessing Ryan Suarez.

    Tirade

The tirade wasn't anyone involved with the Burn.
Other than that I'll just let you guys wonder. :)

A very classy note by Matt Jordan. He could have easily left with a tirade at MLS for not paying him enough money or other league problems. He certainly didn't have to do what he did. It's a very nice statement about Mr. Jordan (and by association, the team he used to play for).

    Re: Tirade

    Maybe the petulant Razov.

Or Chris Henderson when he got allergic to the grass. He won't have that problem this year.
