Ok, barring an unlikely result in Columbus this Sunday we're looking at the last RFK game as we knew it pre-baseball. It's time to squash the miserable attendances in other cities last weekend and pack the place like it was on opening day. If everyone here brings along a hanful of extra folks that normally don't come to games, it's no problem. Email people from your office, school, team, church/synagogue/mosque, neighborhood, family, etc. and see who wants to come see some great soccer. Everybody needs something to do, right? And it's an easy sell: 1) we're playing attractive soccer (mostly) these days 2) tailgate with the SE/Barra or with your friends in some sweet DC autumn weather 3) RFK will be a different place next year 4) the playoffs and if all else fails 5) Freddy Adu My posse is up to 6 now, I'm hoping to have a dozen by the time I order my tickets on Wednesday. Let's pack RFK and make it bounce!
I'd be on the phone first thing Monday AM at 10:00 if I were you just to make sure you got seats together.
Well, it's certainly not for a lack of effort.. The game telecast was constantly pushing the matchup and I hear radio ads for the game on a constant basis throughout the workday.. If weather holds up it should approach 20k on Saturday..
I don't think it would be that strange for NE to hold Cbus to a tie--I think Cbus has lost steam and the Revs have looked pretty good their last couple games. We could still host the final.
I got a posse of 8 people coming with me, 3 first timers, I really hope the stadium fills up and DC can put on a good show.
I'm going to the Terps-FLA State massacure early in the day and will be leaving early. The black clothes are packed and ready. To quote Flounder from Animal House "Oh boy, is this great!"
Sweet...I'm at 11 now, and waiting to hear back from 3 stragglers by tonight before I place my full order. Only a few first timers for now. Man, now I need to figure out a good Halloween costume that's black so I can wear it to the game. How hard can that be?
I'm bringing 6 - all ready to shout and wear black! btw, why is a Revs result unlikely? They're up against a Crew that doesn't look all that great, ( despite the long streak, I never thought they were much better than whomever they played, just luckier...)
It's too bad no one stole the head off the Metro Mascot last Saturday. A sickle and the dog head would be perfect accesories.
My guess is that no one here would really know. The only people who probably have a reasonbly accurate idea would be those who work in UFO.
I just recieved a call from a good buddy of mine who is a season ticket holder in section 122. He has purchased 10 tickets for this saturdays match. They normally have only 4 seats. So theres 6 extra bodies right there that will be cheering on DCU! WAHOO!
K had the last official word on this and I believe she did say 4pm, but if you use the employee lot you can sneak into lot 8 through there earlier. And yeah maybe that is a quesiton we can post on the yahoo group. Will do that now for ya Chico.
