The Hawks were the better team, we overachieved to get them to OT of Game 6. Bad goalie, forwards who can't shoot, skate, or pass, and defenders who suck so bad that Pronger had to triple shift.
I thought Timonen looked ok but I can't figure out why they were pairing Carle and Coburn. They're both helpless without their linemate.
I can't grasp why they never tried a line combination with Giroux and Leino. Even with weak-ass JVR on the line, that would have been really productive.
The Hawks' depth was definitely the reason we were outclassed. They really had no weak spots in their lineup. Meanwhile we have to trot out the likes of Betts, Powe, Coburn, and Carle every so often. Not going to win when you've got those guys mucking around the ice.
I think there was just way too much damn positivity and optimism in this thread. The fall of 2008 was when we did negadelphianism right.
