Hummels said he’s retiring from the NT after the WC.

They weren’t slow under Jupp. Its the tactics not the players at fault here.

Khedira and Gomez should join him too.

I still wish Jupp had coached German NT at some point. Now that was a good coach who was let down by players making blunders and actually owned Madrid.

Under Jupp boateng and hummels are wc. Its not the players.

Gomez is fine off the bench. The problem is leaving Sane home, and bringing Rudy, Plattenhardt, Ginter, and Gundogan.

Phillip max, Kruse, Tah, Meyer are all better options.

Gotetzka needs to start the next match. Need his energy and battle in midfield. He can be another Ballack for us.

I would start this next time:

    ———————Neuer——————-
    Kimmich—-Boateng—-Hummels—-Hector
    ————————Rudy—————————
    ——————Kroos—-Goretzka—————-
    Müller—————Werner—————-Reus

I think Boateng was the better of the defensive cluster********, Hummels looks so out of place, Though he complained after the game that the tactics exposed the defence

Hummels and Boateng were not to blame, they are big CB's exposed 2v 4 with half the pitch to cover, any defender would be made to look slow in that situation.

With proper structure they are wc, what is needed is a proper structure and less risks.

if Germany go out in the GS, would be the worse result since 1938......at a time were there was no GS.

even more reason why Low if he has any value for his country should resign if that's the end result.

Aren’t typical CBs not the fastest members on the pitch?

Seems suicidal leaving them exposed and alone

If Germany goes out the group stage the DFB will indicate their support for him and then quietly about a month later Low will resign "to pursue other opportunities" and a new manager will have been appointed.

Exactly this. No CB in the world would like to be left exposed in this manner.

The only reason you over-commit in this fashion is to compensate for a lack of individual quality when in a desprate situation towards the end of a match. Germany had neither a lack of individual quality, nor was the situation desperate. So why such reckless tactics?

even if we make the R16, I still think it's time to get a new coach. We need someone that's actually a good tactician. Low is a guy that has done well because of the available talent and not as much to do with him.

we also could have won even more tourneys if it wasn't for his blunders in coaching.

Don’t think Nagelsmann or Tedesco will be available in a while, neither is Klopp

Maybe Roger Schmidt is an interesting choice

    posted this on another thread.
    Tedesco signed on until 2019
Tuchel signed only 2 years with PSG until 2020,
Klopp is signed with Liverpool until 2022
Nagelsmann signed with RB until 2023

Hecking, Herrlich,Schmidt are all open by 2019.

Schmidt would be an interesting choice. I think he is a good coach, his style reminds me of Chile in wc 2014.

I think if you dump Low post 2018 WC, then Schmidt might be the only decent option, sign him for 2 years only. Or any coach we get, sign them for 2 years until 2020 EC. More guys could open up by 2020.

all the good choices are contracted until 2020+ except Tedesco, although not convinced he would take the German job this early. Guys who are 40+ might be more willing to take the job.

has a 2020 contract but even then I wouldn't want him as NT coach.

would rather see Low continue for another 2 years.

I think the NT needs a fresh start, and to do that Low and the coaching staff should be replaced.

Qualifying for the Euros is relatively easy so the best time to make major changes to personnel and approach is now, not in 2 years.
