One Sean Roberts, R- Hominy, is threatening to introduce legislation to impose tax penalties on the Oklahoma City Thunder if any of their players kneel for the national anthem. He says black millionaires kneeling for the national anthem is Marxist behavior and a threat to families. Not sure Marx would be able to follow his train of thought, but...

1. The Oklahoma City Thunder are a corporation.

2. A corporation is a person, per the Supreme Court of the United States.

3. A bill to make a personal behavior illegal ex post facto is called a "bill of attainder."

4. Bills of Attainder are specifically forbidden in the Constitution of The United States.

Can't have it both ways, Mr. Roberts...

And that's not even starting on how the Thunder are supposed to prevent kneeling-- hang them in chains perhaps?

 

When I read about Joe McCarthy in my high school history class, I thought that the whole class marveled at how silly he was (indeed, at the entire decade of the Fifties, what with its Red Scare and Weed Scare and other Overwrought Scares). Little did I know how many people were saying, "Now that guy had it figured out, wait until I get into politics, that's just what I will do."

 

As a four year old in 1955 it was glaringly obvious to me that Tailgunner Joe was empire building, not problem solving-- even before I could have formulated those concepts verbally.

Yet here we are 65 years later and his memes still have power over a certain demographic. Talk about the evil that men do living on after them...

 

Generation after generation after generation. MAGA voters are Goldwater voters half a century later. Any differences are vastly outweighed by the similarities.

Have a crazy uncle pop up in a grainy photo wearing a Bigfoot costume. He could leave some droppings & hair fibers in the woods. Hell, throw in a flying saucer on a string
