Les Bleus Feminines have done a great run-up to the Olympics by winning all of their warm-up games without conceding a single goal and yesterday they beat the World Champions, Japan, 2-0.

I thought Charlety wasnt a good football stadium. The stands are kinda far from the pitch but it looks ok for Ligue 2 if PFC can ever get there.

finally got around to watching the USA-France game highlights. How frustrating. Some of those goals France let in were so soft it was ridiculous.

They got a pretty good mediatic coverage for the beginning of the tournament, they even were on the cover of l'équipe. Seems like the victory of Lyon in the CL and the last WC did wonders for their image.

I saw part of the france -n. korea game and I wasn't too surprised on how overall defensively, offensively france looked better in the second half though I think n.korea's performance made france look all that much better
columbia is scrappier and will probably try to do the same thing to you guys as they tried to do vs usa in breaking/slowing down play by any means necessary

    Ya Boulleau is bangin.

Your team is very exciting to watch, I think France just shades it against Sweden, setting up a wide open attractive game in the semis against either brazil/japan

in more ways than LOL, I fancy some of the swedish women
I've watched 1-2 games for japan and brazil and neither is really looking like their top form even sweden isn't looking too hot though they have banged a couple of goals and their GK is in shape

they're both very pretty, but above all they always play in makeup (as does louisa nécib, who also has a zillion groupies) so that helps... when sarah bouhaddi wants to look nice she's got the bone structure for it, that's for sure.

also, she's just more attractive in person: just like lots of women whose voice, mannerisms, etc.can sometimes make them absolutely bewitching despite being cruelly unphotogenic. eugénie le sommer and sonia bompastor are like that.

here's an interesting article (in french) where "tatane" talks about some of her teammates on a personal level.

wow I didn't know professionals play in make up interesting, wonder if it's a specially formulated make up so it doesn't run off when sweating
yeah I know what you mean I had my fair share of who I thought looked great only to be somewhat disappointed or surprised in real life
I thought the article was going to be funnier, I guess I'm just spoiled with all the coverage the usa gets on youtube
I just noticed all 4 quarterfinals are back to back tomorrow

louisa's sometimes runs, and she really uses too much imo. cocotte's i suspect is permanent, that is, kind of tattooed on. amandine henry has the same i think. ELS i believe just wears mascara or perhaps her lashes are just naturally very full. i've seen bompastor play with makeup but it's a rare occasion. i think thomis is always made up but it's hard for me to tell with black women. but i know she's got tattoos, and lotta has one on her arm that just peeks through sometimes... actually i'll bet a lot of them have tattoos, but in discreet places, not plastered all over their arms and necks like the men have.

France need a better goalkeeper. Most of the goals I've seen them concede have been as result of goalkeeping errors.

I know nothing about women football, the first match I saw was the first victory of Lyon in the CL. However, if I'm basing my opinion only on what I've seen, during the last WC there was the same problem with the GK (I don't know her name, sry) that was in danger in the same kind of situations : crosses, free kicks...It was also often the case of France opponents. In my eyes, it seems to be a weakness of women football.

so many regrets for France. they were nervous and played poorly in the first half and then to miss the penalty that would have tied the game in the second half when it was all france seemed to detstroy their confidence a bit.

the japan goalkeeper really kept them in the game with the number of great saves she had

actually sarah bouhaddi is an excellent keeper and she made an inexcusable blunder at the thing she probably does best. a shame about bussaglia missing that péno, eugénie should have taken it even if she was the one fouled, because élise was cuite. but even beyond the two-goal turnaround due to these easily isolated incidents, the main weakness of france today (and all tournament) was the presence of 39 year old sandrine soubeyrand on the field for 55 minutes. once again absolutely fricking useless. unable to run (double plus ungood at the position often called runner), not only a phantom à la récup but her passing catastrophic, because always hurried, because always a step late. physical impact zero. look at japan's 2nd goal again and you'll see it's down 100% to her, from the lost ball at the beginning to the wooden indian defending on theh FK. her once very good outside shot went south three years ago. and if she can still distill some good dead balls there were 4 girls, including two other lefties, just as good at them. so what good is she none at all. starting her equals playing a half or more at 10 and burning one sub early just to get back to 11. as for the armband she only gets it because she's the oldest; the real moral leaders on the team are bompastor, thiney, bussaglia... and abily, who bini left on the bench. look at how the game changed the minute camille came in for grandma soub'! losing to a better team is one thing. losing to a team you beat handily 2-0 a month ago (when soubeyrand was injured, what a coincidence!) and outplayed fairly clearly on the day because the coach has some weird reason for starting a woman who in all decency should have retired at the very latest 18 months ago just MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL!

a last word on a subject that i try to avoid: for those of you who don't know much about the french ladies' game, soubeyrand is on the roster in place of a girl who is the best #6 in the world outside of, and maybe even counting, the US. because amandine henry doesn't fit into BB's "life project". and some say (i have NO idea if it's the case) that the reason behind it is that didine got into a tiff one evening with... mamie soub.

yes, this is a position that is often a weak link in women's football and in the WWC sapowicz and deville were very poor... and bouhaddi stayed at home, once again because of BB's "projet de vie".

both teams were nervous. they were looking at each other like chiens en faience until bouhaddi's blunder. but if abily had been there instead of soubeyrand, the rhythm of the game would have been completely different.

I'm sure fans and players are disappointed they couldn't get more out of today but isn't france in the semis and potentially still in it for the bronze a positive for your country?
