And from my time around the NT as a fan, from 2010 to 2013, she was different. I had conversations with her seating next to her on the team bus, she was not like that.

The Euros quarter-final will be played on Saturday with everybody available so far except Katoto who has gone home following her injury.

I was expecting her to go after the tournament, but the FFF president has backed her up against the players to the extreme. It has allowed her to transition a new generation of players who have won trophies at u17 and u19 level and do not bear the scars of the previous failures. Again, she did not go the right way to remove the older players by clashing with them instead of telling them thank you for your services but good-bye. I am sure we won't win the Euros, but we should have a good go at the world cup trophy in 2023 with the new generation.

Does Diacre get a pass for reaching a Semi-Final down her star striker? If so, I'm scared for France in 2023.
I don't know any insider news, but on the basis of what we've seen at the Euro, I guess she should reatain her place: compared to other clueless-looking coaches she had a clear plan and a more than decent execution. The way she changed the team in the 2nd Half of the semifinal vs Germany was sound and it looked effective for a long stint of that half (although, in the end it appeared it wasn't good enough). I mean, she reached the semifinal of a big tournament, that's more than any of her predecessors managed to do since WWC 2011/Olympics 2012: seems quite difficult to discuss her now.
And yet Diacre wasn't the only French NT coach in history to decide to ban Henry: maybe it's not just on the coaches. If a player appears for any reason being disruptive to a group, it can be the correct choice not to call her, as strong a player as she is.
I've never perceived Henry as any kind of a boat-rocker/trouble-maker. I guess she's clashed with Diacre--as several others have--and almost everyone agrees that Diacre is weird and antagonistic. If you saw the wonder goal Henry struck in the CL final, you'd wonder, like I did, why she wasn't on this France squad.
I don't claim to be an expert on France -- but I think Eugenie Le Sommer was probably the best center forward available for this match and Amadine Henry was probably the best defensive midfielder. They weren't there. Just saying.
Well, she has strong opinions and that does not always go down well. Also when go to prime-time tv to shoot your manager, you can expect retaliation. Henry was actually right to air her views,a lthough Diacre had already started to implement changes to her management style at the time. And I won't go into the personal problems that she created inside the NT that got her kicked out in 2011. Regarding the Le Sommer, she was left out because Cascarino, Diani and Baltimore were called up ahead of her as wingers. Bacha did actually play a lot on the left wing, but was expected to be back-up at left-back.

France--of course--is super-talented, but it is also, IMO, the most under-achieving team in the game and has been for years. Brazil is the other team I'd put in the long-time under-achiever category. I think your only chance is to...hire Wiegman. (!).
Years of infighting between players or players fighting managers means you can't win when certain players won't pass the ball to a certain non club team-mate for example and they won't make the effort for a defensive track-back. All the little things just add up and it makes the difference as well forwards who can't score goals.
France squad for the next WWC qualifiers is the Euro squad except for two injured players. Renard is out with De Almeida coming in. Katoto is out with an ACL and Bussy is in. October will be interesting with Germany and Sweden away friendlies.
I do not understand why the France Federation continues to stick with a strange NT coach who has not won anything AND who alienates good/very good players who could help the team. It makes no sense.

He gave a blank check to Corine Diacre whatever she does, and this coach will never be incriminated whatever happens.
