    Oops, you're right.

Since the contract is only through June I wonder if Joe would come back to MLS if Lens didn't subsequently offer a new/longer contract.

For the sake of the Quakes, I hope not.

Best of luck to Cannon, though it definitely hurts losing him and Barrett at the same time. Does this affect negotiations with Ekelund at all?

You would hope with the loss of wages paid to Wade, Joe and Ariel that they would be able to offer up a better deal for Ronnie now.

With the loss, I'm not too concerned about the keeper spot with Conway (just needs playing time) as a starter and Saunders (great talent to develope) as a back-up. And there's also the possibility of the Quakes getting Jonny Walker who is supposed to be very good.

all we need is Richard to go to Rayo and Ekelund to not sign and then think of all of the "you suck" allocations we will get.....

With the way things are going we may be counting on Johnnie Walker to get us through the season.

The way it looks right now and viewed based on many years of pessimism that Quakes fans have acquired, if Frank and Dom can pull a good result out of this year, they both will definitely deserve the award for All-America-All-Sport Coaches of the Year.

If Ekelund is not too pissed off to give MLS the bird... They (MLS) better get their act together and offer a real contract to Mulrooney...

    It's official.

The Quakes lose their best keeper of the year, though they still retain his rights if he chooses to return. It could turn out to be a steal for Lens if Cannon stays beyond the summer and this is another keeper who is barely on the US National Team pool--the other one being Marcus Hanneman, formerly of Colorado.

Right now, the keeper spot should not be any problem as noted by TSO. Conway will likely now become the #1 keeper and the coaching staff will now have to look for a backup or maybe someone who still has miles left on the keeping.

Conway would be pissed if they bring in a new guy and start him. You gotta give Conway a shot at least. By the looks of our D, it shouldn't take long to see how good Conway really is....he'll be gettin alot of work.

Give it to Conway. I suggested Walker, who will take 100k or a little less, but I think that Conway should get his shot.

"Lens, which tried out Cannon for a week before making him an offer, will use him as a backup to Charles Itandje."

Sounds like Joe may do some well-paid pine-riding.

Keller did a little bit of that at Tottenham until Scotlands #1 got injured. Keller took the spot and hasn't looked back since.
