Pretty amazing. Heidenheim finish Hinrunde 1st half season in the top 10! All alone at #9 in the table with 21 points.

Maloney starts, per usual, in the very middle of a 4-5-1, Heidenheim visiting Hoffenheim (Brooks also starting).

There are a lot of empty seats in Hoffenheim. Game currently tied 1:1. Maloney not involved in the Heidenheim goal.

Maloney starts! in the BL's featured Friday match, Heidenheim (T-9th) hosting Dortmund (4th, and now without Gio Reyna).

He went the distance (literally, ran 12.78 km) against Dortmund. A huge upset tie!… but not really considering the Heidenheimers got a point against the mighty Dortmund in the Hinrunde.

Love this little club. Such a great story

They outplayed BVB today.... probably should have won. I was shocked the xG for the Heidenheim was just over 1. They had several very good chances. BVB looked poor again w/o a CAM.

    A goal!

    https://streamin.me/v/308d2b82

First Bundesliga goal, first league goal at any level since October 2021 with Dortmund II in the 3.Liga.

Leading 2-1 at Bremen approaching halftime, picked up a yellow as I was typing this out.

    "The mighty Dortmund"???

Dude, it's 2024 and Edin Terzic is in charge. :(

Jurgen Klopp is leaving Anfield at the end of the season, not the Westfalenstadion.

Love it! Way to go, Maloney. He’s a hard worker and defensive presence, great he got on the score sheet!

Now that he's scored a goal ... Maloney is playing striker in stoppage time for Heidenheim.

Hung on for a 1-2 victory, Maloney going the full distance and picking up a yellow card along the way.

    Every footballer, too.

Maloney came off limping in the 83rd minute, 2-2 with Union. Maloney had a hockey assist.

They showed a stat and Maloney has covered the most ground of any player in the Bundesliga so far this season (100 m more than the second place guy).

Maloney is out for today's match. At least as of yesterday, it will not be a long-term absence (according to the Heidenheim manager):

“It won't be a long-term absence, but playing tomorrow is impossible. At the beginning of the week he had had real problems. I was able to talk to him about it today and he's feeling much better, but I don't see any chances of him being able to play tomorrow. We'll have to manage it from week to week. I don't want to rule out the possibility that he'll be back in action next week, but it might take a while precisely because such minor inner ligament injuries are very painful. Ultimately, he decides when he is available again and when the workload allows it again. Now, it depends on the course of the healing process.”
