Maloney gets his first Bundesliga start and first game in the Bundesliga with Heidenheim.

    Playing d-mid.

Unfortunately for him, Jonas Wind has two first half goals for Wolfsburg, so not the best day so far. Maloney not really involved in either concession.

Paredes healthy enough to make the Wolfsburg bench.

Whole lot of blah for Maloney. Not a lot of contribution on either side of the ball for him. Wolfsburg have dominated large portions of the match.

Subbed off in the 84th. Ironically, good stats, but eye test and game domination said Wolfsburg's midfield was too much for him.

Reading about his performance. I’m not sure what Heidenheim’s plans are for him. He’s gonna win his duels and be a physical presence. He’s good at that.

But they seem to ask that he cover way too much space than he’s capable and aid in quick transitions. He got away with that in the 2.BL. In the Bundesliga, Maloney needs more support in the middle

And Heidenheim goes up 1-0 in 26’ on an excellent free kick. Same guy who scored missed a PK earlier.

Maloney started against Dortmund. Reyna in hopefully his last match out of the squad, Ryerson on the bvbench.

went down 2-0 in the first half. Lengthy VAR review now for a free kick offside play that could mean 2-1.

Maloney in a tough battle with Haller - does well to cleanly challenge and block the cross, but a lucky bounce to Haller almost leads to an Adeyemi goal, but he was off balance and missed the frame.

Heidenheim manage a goal on a nice half volley, and it’s 2-1 as the try to steal…

Heidenheim was about to get a PK after a sloppy Haller play, called back on a technically correct offside. Still 2-1.

Um, now they’re re-VARing the VAR. Yellow wall displeased.

And now it’s a penalty. Maybe they can review it a third time.

Kleindienst makes the penalty. 2-2. If this holds, first ever Bundesliga point for FCH in one of the hardest matches on the schedule, at BVB.

Maloney briefly hurt, thinks better of asking out and is back on the field.

Gotta say - I love this guy. May never be an average Bundesliga player, but plays with heart and is a consummate team player. Just fear that if they can try to upgrade, his spot will be one of the first places to try.

Nmecha crossbar in the 100th minute - Maloney had a chance to tackle Brand earlier in the play or cut off the final pass, but like everyone else, looks tired.

Full time - first point in history, and a two goal comeback with a crazy VAR moment. Lennard didn’t have a great statistical match, with accuracy problems. But just awesome to draw at Dortmund, his former club.

Maloney started for Heidenheim and they lead Werder Bremen 2-1 early second half. Trying to get a first-ever win.

Maloney with a slide tackle from behind that had SPA yellow written all over it, but instead winds up clean and leads directly to a Kleindienst sot off of the post for FCH.

Weiser header equalizes for Bremen. Maloney not involved. Good cross into the box and only Weiser leapt for it.

Wow - FCH back in front after a rolled cross splits five Werder playsers and he finishes very accurately into the lower corner. 3-2 FCH.

4-2 now for FCH! Beste, after a turnover leads to a tactical slow-motion counter, cuts to the middle and puts another shot just inside the post. they may actually win...

Maloney slides in and wins a challenge - and gets himself stomped accidentally as a late challenge gets the commentators comparing that to red card fouls from earlier in the weekend.

Founded in 1846, Heidenheim have their first ever Bundesliga victory, 4-2. At this pace, they will get their second win in 2200.

Maloney with his best match that I've seen - important contribution and a 7.6 on FotMob.

Lennard once again starts, against Union Berlin. Brenden on the bench. Jan-Niklas Beste, the beste free kick taker around, pit out from about 28 yards out off the bottom of the crossbar and in for 1-0.

Maloney in a double pivot, seems to have had a solid match.

Heidenheim with a second home win, and they leapfrog Union in the table. Maloney solid in the later stages that I watched.
