Recent reports on gazetta.it and calciomeracto.com claim that Juventus and Chievo Verona have reached a deal on the transfer of Nicola Legrottaglie. Calciomercato says that the player and his agent will be in Turin tomorrow morning to finalize the deal.

Calciomeracto.com also reports the comments from the player who said that "As far as I know, the two clubs have reached an agreement. Now its up to me to finalize the personal terms. Next season I will play with the Scudetto on my shirt and in the Champions League...the things that I always dreamt about"

According to the latest update on Gazzetta.it, although there is no ink on the contracts yet, Juve will give Chievo ?7 million and the joint ownerships of Sculli, Paro, and Gastaldello.

    Juve's new signings

Well i'm glad someone out there is keeping track of Juve's new players. According to Juve's site Nicola Legrottaglie will put pen to paper on friday making the deal official. As far as any other deals related with Chievo i really don't know. Nicola is a solid defender from what i've seen, tight at back and has scored a few goals. We also shouldn't forget the signing of Miccoli from Perugia. I really like what Chievo has done in the last 2 seasons, i just hope they don't sell all their quality players. They still need to contend next year. Lastly, any new info regarding Veron or Cavenaghi? Ciao, Forza Juve!

the veron rumor is long over, and cavenaghi, all i have heard was that they would trade salas for him, but that was also a while ago, since salas has been linked with a trade for heinze...

My understanding Sue is that the paperwork is not submitted to the league until the official tranfer time.. Deals are done before hand though.... so in reality it is just the paperwork lodgement period...

Thanks, seems a little crazy to me though. I mean Legrottaglie has already supposedly signed a 5-year contract. Can the contract actually be valid if the deal hasn't been formalized? And what if he gets hurt in the interim?

Well they sign the contract and it is valid.. just not submitted.....

In fact if memory serves me correctly a good example of what can go wrong is a player can sign contracts with two clubs.... point in case I believe was Figo... he signed with one Italian club then signed with Juve in this interum period... when the FIGC found out he was banned from playing in Italy for a certain number of year I think... (though this is a number of years ago when he was still young I think) Not sure I can validate that though, other than with the old Italian fellow I work with that has been following Seria A (Inter in particularly) since the day DOT! lol

So I suppose if there is something wrong with the deal the FIGC can pretty much not validate it....
Thats another can of worms I suppose...
