Okay, so we're only 8 games into the season, but we've seen enough of most players to make some decisions. Who do we have on the roster who plays at the level of a top 2/3rds MLS starter? I use that because it's about the top 2/3rds who make the playoffs. I'm starting us off with Dejan Jovelic (who I assume would be unanimous) and Manu Garcia (who I think would be near that (disagree in comments)). I'm including Capita in this group because we haven't seen enough of him to make that call. So, to make up a playoff calibre team, we only need eight or nine more, if they're in the right spots.
I voted for players that are, or have a realistic shot at becoming within 1 year of development, a top 2/3rd tier player.
As Doyle pointed out, 8 games = approx. 25% of season. I'm only including Dejan and Manu as top 2/3rds MLS on the roster, and they're considerably better than that. Salloi would have been the other but he's gone. Besides those two, we don't have anyone that is a top 2/3rds player (IMO) and I'd actually say most of our roster wouldn't start on a mid level MLS team. I'm not closing the door on the internationals, who all could be in the top 2/3rds of the league. That said, I haven't seen enough of them to say they are.
