I think Salah’s comments are out of line. I don’t think he’s been thrown under the bus. The manager is in a desperate situation where he needed to change something. I don’t see how you can make a change to the way we play and still have Salah in the team. Mo hasn’t been blamed for anything or made a scapegoat. The manager is simply doing something different. Had the game situation warranted it, I’m sure he would have come on a sub like he did against Sunderland. In the two games he didn’t come on, we were protecting a lead and I don’t see how Mo helps with that.

As much as I’m not enjoying watching Gakpo, Cody can be trusted to perform a specific role in a system. He can hold the width and also help out the left back. Last season Salah had the whole system built around him. How could you make a significant change without changing that? His position in the team is being filled by Szoboszlai…someone who has completely different attributes to Mo. To me, that doesn’t say the manager is scapegoating Salah, it says he’s trying something different.

By no means am I saying I think Slot is getting it right. But I do think he has the right to put an underperforming player on the bench without that player going on a 7 minute rant to the media. A player who is about to leave the club for over a month for AFCON. If we are going to need a solution for how to play without him anyway, why not try to find it now while the team are desperate for something to change?

At some point during his two year contract, Salah was going to have to accept a lesser role or at least a different one. Nobody expected it to be this soon. He is not showing to be a character who can accept this without becoming a problem in the dressing room.

It’s a really sad day. Even though I think Salah is wrong, I’m still sad he feels the way he does. I love Mo Salah. If his Liverpool career is coming to an end, it shouldn’t be like this.

Multiple things can be true at once. Salah merits losing auto-starter status AND Slot has done a piss poor job just in general navigating all of this

    It's a shit show...

If Slot has lost the dressing room this will only get worse.

    D- None of the above.

Regardless of how much you might worship him, Salah has always been a selfish player.
Even with Klopp when he was unhappy with being taken off he would pull Liverpool off his social media profiles until he cooled off.
Fortunately his role has always been one in which he got to beat his chest.

The fact is that he has been a donkey this entire season and in the last two season once Ramadan starts his production has fallen off dramatically. It's very likely that he's just cooked.

Guehi ,Semenyo and a new manager pls .

Everyone is so shit this Season that if we get on a run we can seriously win some silverware .

Writing this Season off when the competition sucks is stupid AF.

We’ve been dire in 2025 and it’s time we make a change for the better

Football is a results based business and for all the shouting surrounding giving up a 2 goal and then a 1 goal lead and then the Salah missile, the simple fact is that we finish this weekend a point closer to the top. I don’t know if Slot survives this, but on paper he’s making progress.

I’ve heard that there is a spilt in the dressing room with the 2 sides rarely talking to each other. What I haven’t heard is the who and the why of the split. My guess, and that’s all it is, my guess, is that it’s between the established players and the newbies/fringe players.

Saying we "worship" Salah is dumb. Most of us have been very critical of him AND Slot.

What T. F. Is an Indykaila News? I’m guessing it’s the guy who picks up the dressing room laundry.

I think Indykaila purports to be one of these in the know internet ppl . I've seen his transfer stuff before but I've never thought much of it.

I don’t know who or what he is, but I do know he’s seen as reasonably reliable when it comes to day to day stuff. His transfer stuff is hit and miss.

My understanding is that he has good insight into injuries, team selections, unsettled players, that sort of thing. It would appear that either he or his source is someone who works at AXA. Maybe.

I think Mo should keep his concerns inhouse . Knock on the managers door and find some clarity.

Yep, he’s broken the code. Plus you don’t get picked for how many goals you scored last season, you get picked for how many goals you’ve scored in the last 5 games. At the moment, a huge problem about defense and susceptibility to the counter. Mo is dogshit at both of those. So my thinking, when I’m made manager next week, would be to shore up these deficiencies and then start looking at getting him into the side.

Being a Liverpool all time great is more than winning Championships in May, it’s also about playing the Liverpool way. On and off the pitch.

Yep, agreed and despite me not liking Salah's decision to speak out like this I do think that Mo is likely correct that someone wants him out.
The club is struggling at the moment and Mo is not the solution to turning our slump around. He's on massive wages and as Hughes/Edwards look at continuing the rebuild that dumping that salary , getting a transfer fee for Mo to finance a younger replacement is the best tack to take right now. Football uis ruthless at times.

I would guess Slot has been clear with Salah about what needs to happen here, and has been as diplomatic and sensitive as possible. But...Slot is Dutch, and Dutch diplomats are almost as rare as German comedians.

Ruthless at times? Never forget, Janet Jackson wrote football’s theme song, “What Have You Done For Me Lately?”

Mo's not the first legendary and "worshipped" Liverpool striker to throw a huge strop in public, as his form waned late on in his career.

I was on the Kop the day Roger Hunt got subbed - he stormed off, ripping off his shirt and throwing it to the ground. The gasps from 40k people were remarkable.

LFC got over it. We'll get over this even though it may not be pretty.

What Mo has done just makes me very very sad. Unless fences are mended in the next week - which I highly doubt - I can't see him playing for Liverpool come the end of January. As one media piece said: the owners aren't gonna side with a 33 year old player on his last contract against the manager.

Christ - less than 6 months ago we were on top of the football world.

    meanwhile at the PL table:

    - 9th place
-12 teams have better GD than us (ours is 0)
    - 6 fewer points comparing results of the exact-same fixtures last year
    - 10 fewer points given that we have just 5 from games vs 3 promoted teams
(last season we won all 6 games)
