All I have to say is Healy better be signed, and he better play his ass off for us in his first game... SECOND!.. We better have another signing besides Healy, maybe Kleberson or someone KNOWN... I havn't yet digested the Fowler signing, I'm upset but understand the need... On Woodgate, hey I for one wanted him to stay, but at least this is ONE person we were able to sell for value besides Rio... I can live with the defenders we have, as long as we sign another defender.... But I'm not from Leeds, I'm just a supporter so I can't speak for someone who watched him grow within the system... BUT I need a return, someone has to come in besides Healy.... AND will someone please tell TV that Kewell is not a striker, we need another one or two and let Harry play on the left... Something has to happen, If the board allows this to happen and doesn't bring in something... Then it'll be division 1 either next year, or the next...
Until this past match with Chelsea over the week, I still entertained hope that Leeds could qualify for the UEFA Cup through the Prem. Now Fowler is gone, Woodgate gone...and it appears that Leeds will get nothing in return, not even Kleberson. It's very disheartening to see the team go through this rough patch, but I hope management has learned it's lesson...never buy on the hopes the club makes the Champions League each year! I continue to support Leeds and hope that they can perhaps finish in the top half of the table this year and give it all in the FA Cup. It is possible that Leeds (dare I say) drew against Gillingham in order to set up a return match and more money through gate receipts? Am I off my rocker? Mav
I agree with you, and even with whats happened, there is still a slim chance we can grab that last UEFA spot... It would take a huge run, but its not impossible... If we did draw against them on purpose, maybe they can save a little of that magic so we can get two matches vs Liverpool on TV in the next round... Wouldn't it be funny if Leeds was winning each match and decided to shoot own goals so there would be replays...
I'll tell ya one thing, this has sure got the fans off of Tel's back... If he does leave after the season, or if he stays, he'll be looked on as a hero for keeping us in the Premier league...
I've always supported Tel. He inherited the team *with* a huge debt, he did not create it. For the man responsible, look no further than DO'L. I don't even really blame Peter Ridsdale, due to the financial aspect of modern football, he has to look out for the solvency of the club. Look, we still have a young Kewell and Smith, Viduka plays well along side his fellow Aussies, and we still have Danny Mills. This is also a great opportunity for young Milner to step up at age 17 really show the world what he's got. Mav
Kewell has ten goals this season, 6th in the goalkicking. Considering that he hasnt exactly played the majority of matches, I think he is doing just fine as a striker
I think wrong? I DO watch the games, and I have seen him score 10 goals this season. That alone speaks for itself, don't you think?
If you have watched all the games, then you know not all of those goals came from the striker position, even when he plays up front it's more of a withdrawn forward... Kewell is a decent striker, maybe better than average, but he is a World Class midfielder...
OK, I'll concede that much BUT, I think he is better as a striker than you give him credit for. That isnt to say that I class him as a superstar striker, but he is more than 'maybe better than average' Well, in my opinion, anyway.
Kewell He is not a striker he misses to many chances. Stick him in midfield and put Smith up front . http://www.geocities.com/fatalfie2002/
Just because he misses chances, he is not a striker? Michael Owen misses alot of chances (moreso lately) Does that mean he isn't a striker?
Attacking midfielders (like Harry) score goals all the time. This doesn't make them strikers. Its not a question of whether or not he can score, anybody who has seen him play, or can read highlights knows this. Despite this, Harry is a MIDFIELDER, and a damn good one. Cheers guys...
Leeds United... The FUTURE? Two words: First Division. You and Leceister will have a lot to talk about.
I highly doubt that... What are you an irishman who roots for Arsenal? Or did you just see some EPL highlight that said Arsenal were in 1st so you decided to root for them... Go find another forum troll, I hear theres alot of people like you in the Man U forum, you'll fit in nicely there...
I don't think you realise... only the BOTTOM three sides go to Division 1. Leeds wont finish there for a long long time to come, if at all.
Re: Re: Leeds United... The FUTURE... Apparently not, all you need to do is borrow on future earnings...
From what I have seen and heard, Bravo looks very, very good. If only we could somehow get him to stay (for a reasonable price) Lets hope he makes the most of it while he is with us.
