    i do hate chelsea though.

Even if we lose, i hope a lot of their players get injured by legitimate tackles from David Batty.

I smell a blowout. Safe in the fact that there will be no administration and possibly a cash influx coming soon. The spirits high! Take Chelski by suprise 3-0!

I think this game is the biggest for Gray though. If he wins this, he deserves the manager spot. I think even if they lose he should get it. He's got love for the team!

    Leeds - Chelsea [R]

    Mods, merge this thread.

    1-0 Leeds at the half.

Pennant in the 20th minute I believe.

    Leeds 1:1 Chelsea

    Pennant 18th
    Duff 70th

Sounds like they are winning everything except the score.

Just watching the replay now. That was a nice goal by Pennant. They're lookin good. Of course now that they had the lead, they had almost everyone back. But a draw against the top team in a game where Leeds played good should build on the confidence from the Charlton win. Ahh the future does look bright again!

Also watchingthis game. It got hectic in the 42nd minute. Radebe's and Phails cards were total crap. I'm sure they got them for saying something to the ref, but the ref deserved it whatever it was! Melchiot comes flying in with his leg up by the head of one of the leeds players. No card or foul. Then Radebe clearly gets all ball in a low tackle and the ref blows for a foul. And cards Radebe. Then for about a minute, Chelsea could do no wrong whil any challenge leeds did was a foul. Terrible!!! McPhail had a great chance to score in like the 39th minute or so but just put it wide!

McPhail's chance was inches wide, a nice shot.

Pennant's goal was absolutely marvelous - if you haven't seen it, find it. Shades of Kewell at his best...

The result was deserved - Chelsea certainly carried the play, but our boys played with tenacity and executed Gray's defensive tactics very effectively. There's hope yet.

Yeah, we're not in last place anymore! Leeds had another good showing under Gray. Games like this always help in a relegation battle. If Leeds can have the defense respond like this against other teams that are clearly better, staying in the EPL is a strong possibility. Pennant's goal was very nice. All in all, this game was a success for Leeds.

Congrats on a great battling draw.

I agree about the referee - he was rubbish.

Having said that I thought Smiffy's tackle on Duff where he went in with both feet and then kicked out at Duff afterwards wasn't unlike Ashley Cole's against Ben Thatcher in the Arsenal game. Geremi did something that wasn't as bad earlier in the season and got a second yellow and was sent off so I suppose it cuts both ways. Still, you've got to love the lads determination I suppose.

I thought Pennant was dangerous throughout the match. Obviously it helps if the opposition gives you the ball just outside their own penalty area but a magnificent goal, nevertheless.

I'm sure that yer man there, Eddie gray, would have appreciated that goal and Pennants whole display. He was one of the greatest wingers of the past 30 years in his day, albeit on the other side if memory serves.

BTW, do you think that Smiffy is going to be played in mid-field from now on?

Yea, the challenge by smith wasn't the nicest challenge. I didn't see Alan kick out until they kept showing the replay, so I'm sure the ref never saw it. I guess we did get lucky there because that could have easily been a red card!

As for Smith playing Midfield, I think he will keep playing there. He's done good in support for Viduka, but I think the main reason is his hustle. He runs back on defense run up on attack. He's all over the place kind of like a free role! But it works!

I just saw the game at work on Fox Sports en Espanol. McPhail was oh-so-close to putting us up by two. BTW, did Robbo lose a bet or something? What is up with that hair?

Well done to Leeds. If they keep performing like this, I'm sure Leeds will survive in the premiership.
