PSV vs Ajax, PSV won 2 -0 Lee Young Pyo scored and then had the assist on the second goal. I saw the goal clip, from the top-left of the box he did a step over and put the ball to his right and shot it past the Ajax Goal Keeper, he looked sooo happy and like since hes close with a lot of the PSV players they were like congratulating him like crazy, must have been a great feeling for him.

I can connect to see the De Jong goal but not Lee's.
    Anyone else have same problem?

That was a nice cross by Lee, he plays on the
left but is he naturally right-footed?
So much of his great assists (including the one to Ahn vs. Italy)
    come from his right foot.

I think he can play with either.

Confidence & good guidance by Guus has helped Lee & Park out IMO.That's what Seol & Song are both lacking & the fact they can't communicate in a decent manner.Players need to integrate to play well.

It's really a shame for Song as he was one of the very best of our players.

After watching the clip here are my thoughts.
Disclaimer: I didn't watch the match so I'm judging the performance by Young-Pyo based on the two goals.

First goal: Look at the lad's face!! Sheer ecstasy after some nice movement of the ball on the perimeter of the area. Was that Beasley that made that nice back heel near the top of the box? But let's be objective and fair. The goal, while a moment of pride for us, should not have been a goal if the keeper for Ajax stuck to basics..ie. stretch your whole body out and push the ball away. So the shot really should have ended up in a corner for PSV but ended up in the net. Ok, so I'm being harsh. But it wasn't one of those shots that elude a keeper at full stretch into the top corner. So great moment, but not so great goal.

Second goal: Reminded me of Young-Pyo's cross to Ahn Jung-Hwan in Daejon against Italy in that memorable game a little over two years ago. This time, unlike Ahn who outjumped veteran guru defender Maldini, De Jong was unchallenged when he makes the knock. Same flat footed response by the Ajax keeper (was it Lobont?) as was Buffon in that World Cup game. The cross was nice.

Sorry to sound like a dick. Like I could do any better right? I probably can't run a fraction of what those lads run during a game. But I think sometimes this thread needs a dose of objectivity amidst the excitement generated by the performance of our players overseas. Hell if I had my way, our boys would be blasting in goals left and right on a weekly basis. Football is about taking your chances and leaning on the mercy of luck from time to time. This was one of those moments.

Well yeah you're right the shot itself wasn't great but a goal's a goal. It can fly in like a rocket or it can just roll across the line. 1 goal all the same.

    I second that.

I saw the highlights, too. I thought the shot was good enough (accurate, unexpected, strong) to surprise a goalie. The assist appears to be more of a freak - it looked as if Lee just centered the ball with no player in mind.

Anyway, the telling thing was that Lee was selected as MOTM which spoke volumes.

    I can't believe you say that ..

For the goal he lost control of the ball (went behind him) so he ended up making a poor shot (it bounced before it got to the keeper ffs :D ). If he hadn't lost control then he would've scored on the far side of the goal .. the defending was terrible.

The assist was class, if a little too long. Far post, curling in, and high enough so that the keeper couldn't claim. A little too long but pretty damn good imho ..
