off topic question for a saudi, just out of curiosity.... i see that the saudi league has a team based in mecca, so against other teams with non-muslim guys like say lee young pyo, how are home games arranged?

Thanks b_p. I guess that rules out a loan move in between breaks ie MLS vs EPL.

    That's quite easy.

Al Wehda play in a suburb of Mecca that's outside of the city's designated holy area.

Al Wehda has also has non-muslim players and coaching staff. They usually live in Jeddah which is a 30 minute commute to the stadium in Mecca.

it is a myth that many thought he was a failure in epl. he started far more important games than assou-ekkoto until ramos arrived.

cafu was playing very well for ac milan in his late 30's, so I don't see why lyp can't do it at 33. he's shown that he is still in excellent shape. i've seen players in their early 20's that aren't even close in terms of fitness.

but i have to admit that this world cup was a bad one for LYP, as he made too many mental errors. i think he was directly at fault for two of the goals conceded by Korea. he has developed a very bad habit of drifting too far toward the center and allowing too much space on his wing. perhaps this was partly to help out two relatively inexperienced cb's, but it appears that he didn't trust his teammates.

perhaps playing in the saudi league has made him a bit sloppy. so going back to the epl would have been good for him.

I think he was fine with Spurs, he was a scapegoat for the fans plain and simple, and I believe he can still play in the top flight in England.

That's what you and I think, my point was the Spurs fans thought he was shite and the Liverpool fans would probably be disappointed they are buying a 33 year old LB whom it's perceived didn't have a successful time in England.

Surely 'Pool fans are used to the bigger names signing up.

This is spot on. His WC performance, at least on the defense end, was below average. He was directly at fault for Uruguay's go-ahead goal, and his overall defending against Argentina was horrible.

You really have nothing positive to say about Korea's World Cup performance do you. :(

I'm not sure if I have anything positive to say, but I do always speak the truth. So it's up to you to take it like a man or deny it like a woman.

Only if you admit that you choose to keep talking like a woman instead of shutting up like a man. =D

I won't admit it :) Real men don't shut up when when it's time to speak the truth.

Lee Young-pyo's WC performance was half assed.

Considering all the air travel all sports teams all over the world do I'm surprised no players or entire teams are not involved in plane crashes more often.
