Since the other one was closed due to the length, I open up a new one who those who are interested in Lee's performance and his move to play football in Vietnam. Thx.
An article after Lee's first offical game in which he scored a hattrick Nguyen himself said he is happy to have worked well with his new teammates, but added he is not quite satisfied with his current form. He said he is at just 70 or 80 percent of his best form, and hopes to play better in coming days. Nguyen has played four matches for the US team, and under FIFA regulations, he can’t play for Vietnam’s national team even if he is granted Vietnamese nationality. http://www.hagl.com.vn/en/modules.php?name=News&op=viewst&sid=65
Obviously, Lee did not play well in his first V-league game. Also, no one expect him to play for the Vietnam national team. He is in Vietnam not for that reason. However, he will be granted the Vietnamese nationality so that he won't be counted as a foreign player.
In absolute stunning news, Bob Bradley has not included Lee Nguyen on the US team to face Mexico on Wednesday. This despite scoring hat tricks at will in V-league.
I think it was a first division side. No one expected Lee to get called in. I still think his nats career is on hold for a while. He doesn't need to worry about the nats anyway, he needs to focus on his club career.
I won't be following his career unless his team wins the Asian Champions League. Otherwise, I don't why he's not at least trialing in MLS.
Lee Nguyen will not be called up for the USNMT as long as he is with HAGL. Unless the US plays VS Viet Nam. Successful players use their skills to adapt to the league that they play in. By choosing the V-League, he chosed a league that fit HIS style of play. I doubt Mexico or any other teams would adapt to his style of play. Unless he accept his weakness and tries to improve upon them, he will never be successful anywhere else other than the V-league.
I dunno, maybe because he makes in a month in Vietnam is about what he could make in a season in MLS.
you think to highly of MLS - there is absolutely no skills in MLS. Anyone who can run can play in MLS
I thought we'd agreed in the last version of this thread to shelve this particular debate? Or at least the "my dad can beat up your dad" portion of it.
True - this thread should be about Lee. You won't know how Lee is going to perform until this next game. The last game doesn't really count. Why? HAGL bought three main players from DongThap(team that beat HAGL last week), it is hard to say but I think Khoa maybe able to explain it better but in our country, we try to show respects to former team. There has been rumors that a few of those players didn't play up to par,but just a rumor. Lee didn't have the ball that much on the last game as well. Look forward to see Lee score this week. Good luck Lee
Lets just focus on Lee or this thread is going to turn out like the last one. All this talk about MLS and comparing to the V-league, the national team and their players, it's getting very very old.
on both sides out of curiosity from the V-leaguers on the board... which league do your players tend to be scouted by?? J-league would be my guess, but again, just a guess...
