Another Korean joins the list of Top 4/5 league winners: Park Ji Sung - EPL Champion Kim Min Jae - Serie A Champion Lee Kang In - Ligue 1 Champion
Not starting vs. Dortmund. I understand the decision but it’s still disappointing how completely forgettable in his last CL start.
LKI created some great chances after coming in, especially off of set pieces. Love to see Dumbele put in a great performance for Dortmund.
I think he should've started. He looked great coming on and putting in dangerous balls into the box. I don't understand Enrique's plan starting Fabian Ruiz when they needed goals. Lee provides far superior offensive qualities. Vitinha also looked like the best player on the pitch for long periods of that game. Really impressed by him. In the end, PSG super unlucky to not go through... They hit the crossbar/post like 5 times?? Very unfortunate.
Fabian Ruiz is definitely a more controlling, defensive choice. That said, LKI has the tendency to get 쫄았어 against bigger teams and gets in the habit of making square or back passes a majority of the time. He needs to recognize when he's been chosen for his offensive qualities and take chances. The quality of his crosses alone justifies his inclusion. I didn't really see the Vitinha hype until the latter half of this season but I fully see it now.
Kim Min Jae has won a league trophy. Hwang In Beom has won a league trophy. Now Lee Kang In has won a league trophy. 🇰🇷🏆 pic.twitter.com/A0GxOVHOoW— Ligue 1 McDonald's (@Ligue1) May 13, 2024
It is do or die for him this season from what I can tell. Tbh, I prefer him to leave next summer, regardless of whether he balls out or not. Hate the pissG plastics for treating him like some marketing pony. Kang-in Lee is hoping to do much better this season at PSG compared to last season, as he now knows the club, the coach, the city, his teammates better. PSG is also counting on Lee, after having already rejected a €70M offer from a Premier League club. 🔴🔵🇰🇷@Santi_J_FM pic.twitter.com/tTLVU0vKg2— PSG Report (@PSG_Report) August 9, 2024
He still seems to be being used as sub/impact sub at best. Dude needs to plan on his departure next summer at this rate. PSG isn't a club to develop his game. PSG is a project, not a proper club.
I think PSG helped his improve his goal-scoring ability immensely. The quicker timing of his shooting, and the ability to mix-in near-post shots like Kylian Mbappe has allowed him to access more toolkits to impact the game than before. https://soccerline.kr/board/1759889...ype=0&searchText=이강인&categoryDepth01=1&page=0
It is great that he is getting something out of his time at PSG. However, I don't want him to be treated like some kind of luxury/impact sub. Need to show some ambition if his time as a sub keeps up with no change. Either he steps up massively or leave.
I'm quietly confident that there might be a positive, even under current circumstances. He is definitely improving as a player in terms of absolute ability. Performances and individual accolades depend a lot on systems built around the player also. There is no guarantee that another team would utilize Lee Kang-In to his fullest potential. Plus there might be added problem that he might not improve as fast as he is right now, training with quality players. The pieces are there. I think it just might all click together. Maybe he should invite Ousmane Dembele to a game of table tennis.
I'd like for him to spend the least amount of time with Dembele as possible. Dude has the intelligence of a doughnut and is an absolute brat.
I just read that LKI is dating a chaebol, a Doosan heiress... Not judging good or bad... but that seems to just fit him right...
