U.S. Lecce host AC Milan on Sunday noon when the clock points 12:30 at Stadio Via del Mare, for the eighth matchday of the 2011/2012 Serie A, and coach Massimiliano Allegri has named his squad.

Alexandre Pato, Mathieu Flamini, Gennaro Gattuso, Thiago Silva and Clarence Seedorf are all injured. Marco Amelia and Filippo Inzaghi have not been named as well but Captain Massimo Ambrosini is back.

GOALKEEPERS - Abbiati, Roma, Piscitelli (n.51).

DEFENDERS - Abate, Antonini, Bonera, Mexes, Nesta, Taiwo, Yepes.

MIDFIELDERS - Ambrosini, Aquilani, Boateng, Emanuelson, Nocerino, Van Bommel.

FORWARDS - Cassano, El Shaarawy, Ibrahimovic, Robinho

MASSIMILIANO ALLEGRI wants a first win IN Lecce in 10 years as he targets all three points.

Antonio Cassano might refer to the game against Lecce as a derby, but all Massimiliano Allegri sees in Sunday’s away game is a chance to climb up in the standings, and get back on track in the Serie A.

Milan have started the season badly with 8 points from 18 possible but the Rossoneri look good again and Coach Allegri hopes to get back to the top as soon as possible, at least until the next break.

“It’ll be a tough game, it’s been ten years since the last time we won at Lecce so we have to try and get over this taboo. We’ll be up against a well-organized team with quality players who’ll cause us problems,” Allegri said in today’s press conference. “We have to climb up the table and we can’t afford any more slip ups.

“Right now we need to pick up points away from home. Tomorrow we’ll have to aware of the importance of the game and to respect our adversary because even when they’ve lost, they’ve always played well.”

“The way the table looks now actually helps you to prepare for the games because we all have loads of motivation to get to the break in a better position than the one we’re in,” Max later continued. “We have to get to 6 November near the top of the table and fight to stay there until the end of the league campaign.

“We have to get back up the table. I’m not about to get worried about Inter, with all due respect, we are Milan. We have a chance to climb up the table now before the break. If we keep on going like this, within three weeks, if we’re not top of the table, we’ll be close. Last year? I don’t know how far the team is from last season. I only know that we’re improving and getting back to playing like the players know they can.“

Alberto Aquilani and Kevin-Prince Boateng played well against BATE but are doubts for Lecce.

“I will evaluate the situation of Aquilani and Boateng. Thiago Silva and Seedorf aren’t while Ambrosini is fit. Yepes could play tomorrow. I think shortly Mexes will be one of our starting 11,” he said. “There’s a possibility that that the ‘three tenors’ (Binho, Zlatan & Cassano) will all play, I’ll decide after training today.

“You need to maintain that competitive spirit and the same concentration levels for 90 minutes without giving anything away. We have to technical and physical qualities to do that,” the Milan boss concluded.

what a crazy match. i just kinda watched the replay on espn3. i knew how it ended so i didn't pay too close of attention. i was unpacking while it was on.

the first half we played very sloppy and nonchalantly. it seemed like everyone was hung over. then in the second half, kpb brought the fire. it seemed like cassano came alive too. it isn't every day a team goes 3 down and comes back to win. maybe this can be a turning point for this team to get them focused and confident.

milan showed a charactor..thts what hungry hungry players like boeteng give u!! last yr i didnt like boeteng playing behind the strikers cuz he doesnt score much..now tht he practiced his shooting I say play him as a striker even!!

last year we made history by breaking some records like the goal conceeded and winning against napoli away and we ended up winning the serie a..this yr we broke the record my winning away to lecce, for me its a sign of good things to come

Nice 2nd half, but WTF was Allegri thinking starting with 3 defensive mids against F$%^$% Lecce! What a coward.
Good we won, but conceiding 3 goals against Lecce is still ultra-poor.
