So LeBron just showed up at a game in Warrensville Heights over the weekend driving a brand new Hummer.

The story line is that it was a birthday present from his Mom.

Who makes about $30,000 a year.

It has three TV's and a satellite computer hookup, and was shipped in from California after being "customized".

Are you suggesting that LeBron is the collateral?

    But that would be wrong.

Then there's the matter of LeBron Inc.'s recent purchase of a Hummer with three TV sets inside. Sticker price: In the $50,000 neighborhood.

Three months from the end of James' high-school career, this seemed, well, a trifle indiscreet. The Ohio High School Athletic Association, which has huge state tournament gate receipts at stake with him, surely will investigate. I would not be at all surprised if they didn't decide to suspend some track kid for wearing too small a number, or something.

    I stand corrected.

The Plain Dealer is reporting today that LeBron's mother DOES NOT HAVE A JOB; they live in government housing and she gets an ADC check funded by suckers who actually work.

Furthermore, LeBron was already driving an Explorer given to him by Mom's "boyfreind" and "financial advisor" who's currently behind bars for fraud.

I believe it's highly unlikely that OHSAA will find anything illegal in this situation. In fact, I think their "investigation" won't consist of much. I don't think OHSAA - which is an absolute joke of an organization - wants to miss the pay days of a sold-out Gund Arena and a sold-out Value City Arena that would result from a deep tourney run by SV-SM.

This just in - Colin Powell has released these aerial shots of one of Bron's compunds.

The smoking gun if ever I saw it.
