Meanwhile, Portland forward Joe Highfield, who went in the first round to Houston, is STAYING in school and will play his redshirt junior season at Portland. https://portlandpilots.com/news/202...ghfield-will-return-for-fall-2026-season.aspx
Also returning is Vermont All American GK Niklas Herceg, who was drafted by "Dallas FC" after a strong sophomore season. I'm more surprised he's not transferring to a bigger program than returning, but, Burlington is beautiful in the fall. https://www.mynbc5.com/article/vermont-soccer-uvm-goalie-herceg-2026/69905073

Kentucky Jr. D Marques Muir has given up his senior season but is staying in town, signing with Lexington SC of USL Championship. (Presumably he can still take classes if he wishes.) https://ukathletics.com/news/2025/1...-professional-career-signs-with-lexington-sc/
UIC Jr M Edouard Nys signed with North Texas SC. Tulsa sophomore defender Alex Cunningham signed with SKCII. UNC freshman defender Immanuel Mathe signed with Whitecaps 2 back at the start of January.
SMU So. M Charles-Emile Brunet, who was taken in the third round by Nashville SC this winter, has signed. https://www.nashvillesc.com/news/nashville-sc-signs-charles-emile-brunet
The style of play at IU/college is pretty individual-driven and didn’t really play to Colton’s strengths. Add in the college sub rules and game flow—which can be pretty choppy—and it just wasn’t an attractive long-term fit for how he wants to play and develop.
Thanks, Dad. The style at IU is individually driven ? Wow! ... I see over 50 years of history that says something different.
