Did you guys see the fotos of the US home kit over at mlsrumors? Sorry i dont have a link but you all know mlsrumors. Ugh, people will mistake me for an fc dallas fan!
http://www.footballshirtculture.com...012-2014-nike-home-football-shirt-leaked.html No way I ever buy or wear that jersey.
Sorry to mls-rumors and seccs. Org for the hotlink. The battery on my laptop died and I'm on my phone.
i don't think it's real at all. the flag on the neck is not remotely consistant with what nike had been doing with that area. the crest isn't bordered like it's been since '06, it looks like someone bought a nike template, got a flag big enough to cover whatever was on the neck, and stuck a us crest on it.
time to tweet the hellout of @ussoccer and let them know how awfull it is. Power to the People! HELL NO WE WON'T BUY THAT CRAPPY FCFRISCO KIT.
FWIW, footballshirtculture is a usually a very reliable site. a lot of the leaks come from fans that work in some capacity with the shirt makers, distributors or retail. we'll see...
Proud owner of our Drunken Wavy Lines jersey from USA'94! 07.04.94 the day the eventual champion Brasil kisses the post n thanks. Japan's National Rugby Team has already laid claim to the red hoops Nike. Paraguay's National Football Team has already laid claim to the vertical red. Liberia as well. Peru and the U.S. can and should stay with the red sash for Brasil'14, it worked for our mailmen the last time Brasil hosted the Mundial!
This is what I posted in the USA Men's forum: Ewwwww. If that is the official design, I am sorely disappointed. Nike actually gets paid to come up with something like that? I am not a huge fan of stripes to begin with, but that kit just looks so juvenile and tacky. Couldn't Nike have come up with something a little more sleek and sophisticated? I mean, I'm sure there is a way to make our jerseys more refined while still incorporating elements that are distinctly "American." I think it would have been so cool for them to have centered their focus on the bald eagle as their main inspiration for our jersey. How boss would it be to see a 'Golden Eagle' kit on the field? Oh, all the possibilities. Off to sketching... I concur with everyone here, that kit just hurts my eyes. I think of Where's Waldo? and The Cat in the Hat every time I look at it. They didn't have to use the flag in such a literal sense.
I really wished I paid attention to soccer back in 1994 since I lived close to Orlando - well...technically 2 hours away. Even if I didn't go to a game, I would have wanted a jersey. edit: Lookie lookie!!!
Am I the only one that likes the Paraguay uniform? There's nothing closer to a Captain America costume than that uniform.
Vertical stripes with blue shorts = Paraguay, Atletico Madrid Vertical stripes with black shorts (cool as hell) = Sunderland, Estudiantes de la Plata, Athletic Bilbao Vertical stripes with white shorts (hate it) = Stoke City Vertical stripes with red shorts (hate it) = Atletico Madrid (sometimes)
I'm just not the fashionista that you guys are. If our team wears it, then I will to. Proudly. In this day and age of constantly changing strips you just have to suspend your judgement subroutine and go with it. Its all good.
