What we used to hear in 2005 is "that sexy samba soccer" from Ray Hudson. Been a long long time since we played anything like "sexy samba soccer".

Who designed Necaxa's jersey? I guess the same people who designed Tabasco or pizza boxes.
I am pretty sure there are more elegant ways to incorporate the national colors. I also saw better looking Necaxa jerseys at the stadium.

And that field invader waited till his team was down 0-5 to streak across the field. Lame.

Yeah, I just came here to say that. He knew exactly what he was doing too. As he ran up to get into space to receive the ball you can see him glance to see where Jebo was. Perfect no-look flick straight into Jebo's path.

So is Necaxa that bad or we were that good? I think it's a bit of both. And for once we were the more rested team also (8 days vs. 4). The Liga MX teams really are at a disadvantage though because they don't get to play home games. Quakes would probably have a hard time winning at Necaxa.

But I also think the Quakes have had this kind of game in them for a while, and it finally broke out.

Pellegrino got credited with 2 assists and kind of made the play that resulted in Marie's goal also (he tackled the ball away from the defender and Marie ran onto it). But I want to see some of that finishing that he's supposed to be known for. He gets probably more chances than any Quakes player because we play him thru a lot. But his finishing recently has really been "womp womp".

I thought Munie looked a little rusty tonight with his passing. He's usually pretty clean but a couple of poor ones tonight. But overall, a solid game as per usual. He's got good recovery speed too - something he hasn't really gotten credit for yet.

Remember when a bunch of people were convinced that we should be starting Judd instead of Jebo? Good times. Jebo hasn't been great this year either except for Leagues Cup but Judd has sort of revealed himself to be crap.

Pellegrino did get the assist for Hernán’s goal but I liked how he sprinted into the center of the box to create space for his teammate to drive into the left half space and take a blast with his favored left foot. Amahl’s vision is probably the best part of his game.

Munie has a nice athletic profile for a defender and looks really poised given his relative lack of experience.

Yueill and Gruezo actually look dynamic and proactive - the former making off-ball runs and the latter aggressively winning duels in the midfield.

Russell mentioned in the presser that the coaching staff has been making Jebo work on hold-up CF play drills and it shows - the linkage up front looks way better.

Overall the Quakes looked tougher, smarter, and more skilled than their opposition - really enjoyed how Benji, Rodri, et al came to Yarbrough’s defense without losing control.

    Great game!!

Many of our guys turned in really good games. Lopez was excellent. Really dynamic in midfield tonight. Pellegrino had a really good game. Jebo was Man of the Match! Jackson was really good. Gruezo was good. All of our defenders were good. Great game from The ‘Bro! Cristian was a little quiet, but we attacked on the left most of the night, which is wildly different for us.

Ian has the guys hitting on all cylinders.

    When is our next game?

    Go Quakesfans!!
Maybe you all free of puke!

Necaxa is that bad... They beat up a Sounders 3rd team. they will get whomped in MX unless they play Atlas or Xolos. As I keep saying, theyre terrible and have been since the 90s.

We wouldnt win with a huge margin but we would still win in Aguascalientes. Estadia Victoria isnt some imposing place like the Azteca. The fans are very tame and humble.

On the other side, Quakes have been getting better as the days go by. We struggle against MLS elite (Galaxy) and we shall see ehat happens against LAFC. If we play like we did today, could be a very good match.

Judd has proven to be a pile of shit from the game he got a blatant red card.

Jebo has proven to be shit since 2022, with streaks of a few goals.

When was the last time the Quakes won by five or more goals against anybody?

    Just saw the goals.

    Jackson's goal seemed like a slow-motion replay.

Hernan Lopez had a beautiful back flick on Jebo's goal to make is 4-0.

Nice to see Paul Marie score as well.

Why can’t the Quakes do this in MLS?

Does it really have to do wiht the "Level Of The League"?:)

    Tony & Alba’s?

I liked the Bufalo shirt sponsor on some of the Necaxa kits in the stands, :)

Just saw that William Yarbrough was born in Aguascalientes the city where Club Necaxa plays.

I think they beat Bay Cities 5-0 in Open Cup a couple years ago.

In MLS, offhand, 5-0 over a very good RSL squad in 2012 (belying the notion that Quakes team was lucky and only won in Goonie fashion).

He also created the space for JY's goal, taking 2 defenders with him to the far post (and probably is why the keeper was leaning that way allowing his slow roller to go in). As much as I really don't like his ball skills, he seems to see the game pretty well and works hard off the ball.

Pregame I always watch the team warm up, especially when they do their shooting practice. Most games they are just banging them in pretty good and I am filled with a little hope that they have their shooting shoes on and it bodes well for the game, but, obviously has not been the case this year! Last night they couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn during warm up, easily the worst they have been all year, and I had the thought maybe the script would be flipped for the game. Sure enough, much more clinical last night!

And Herman’s goal as well. He made a far post run as Hernán cut over to his side that drew defenders to open up the space for Hernán. I’m just disappointed because ‘Grino should have 10 goals by now, not 5.
