Well, since I was two years old I've been living in Sweden and it's only thanks to my dad that I still know a little about south american soccer. It's difficult to follow the chilean or argentinian league here So my question is: which league is the best, second best and third in South America? How is the quality of the other leagues? Pay - Mexico is the highest paying one Best league: - Brazil and Argentina, but I personally think that Argentina's league is the best. I rather watch a crappy game from that league, than a good one from the english league. - Mexico - The rest, I don't know, I go by how the teams do in Copa Libertadores.
Do they have any mexican restaurants in Sweden? If owners love thier futbol odds are they'll have a satalite. That's what I had to resort to here in bizarro-land. I buy the cheapest thing on the menu - ask them to put on the TV to Libertadores or Sudamericana on Fox Sports en Espanol. - works like a charm. I don't see leauge games but - I figure by watching Libertadores I see the best of each country and here's what I've learned this year: 1) Mexican teams can hold thier own 2) Soccer in Venezuela is getting better in quality 3) Cienciano made a huge mistake by not playing in Cusco
Best league in South America is by far Argentina's Then I'd say it's Brazil's and after that it's pretty much down hill. I know I'll get critcisms for this but Ecuador's could be ranked 3rd since they have some good players there now (Murillo, Delgado, Higuita, Aguinaga, etc) and teams are competitive in Copa Libertadores. Check out Liga de Quito and Barcelona. After Uruguay's then I'd say Colombia. My opinion.

I wouldn't put Venezuela in last place: 1. After 6 years of playing 2 spots with Mexicans in Pre-libertadores Venezuela got 3 direct spots, making the league more competitive. All the teams know that by playing good in the league, they'll go to the one of the best soccer tournaments in the World. 2. From the 14 players that beat Uruguay, 6 play in the venezuelan league (including the goalie). 3. In the first round of Copa Libertadores 2004, venezuelan teams have played better than Chilean, Bolivian and Paraguayan teams, when you look at the numbers. Tachira tie with River Plate in Venezuela Maracaibo tied with Velez in Argentina (a mistake in min.92). Maracaibo beat Fenix (Uru) in Uruguay. And believe or not, Maracaibo is in 9th place in the Venezuelan (of 10 teams) CaracasFC 2-0-3 6pts/15 Tachira 1-3-0 6pts/12 (1 of the 6 unbeaten teams) UAM 1-2-1 5pts/12

argentinean league is it for me...i have to agree with DanRod. i'd rather see crappy game from argentina than a lot of hyped-up games at work, i tell people that the Libertadores and league games are more passionate than Champions League and a good chunk of leagues in Europe... and i'd love to smoke what VS has when he put out his list... puff, puff, give; don't break the cycle
I agree about the intensity being better in S.A. man what boring semis for CL and UEFA cup, two games decided on a PK....the only goal of the game.....
The best league depends of many different criteria. I think the best leagues are the leagues with better results in the last Copa Libertadores. Quarterfinalists 2004 - Brazil : 3 (Santos, Sao Paulo, Sao Caetano) - Colombia : 2 (Cali, Caldas) - Argentina : 2 (River, Boca) - Venezuela : 1 (Tachira) 2003 - Brazil : 2 (Santos, Gremio) - Argentina : 2 (River, Boca) - Colombia : 2 (Indep.Medellin, America) - Mexico : 1 (Cruz Azul) - Chile : 1 (Cobreloa) a) Brazil & Colombia had 4 different teams in quarterfinals in last 2 years. b) Argentina only have River & Boca. c) Another countries only have 1 appearance. In my opinion, now Brazil & Colombia are the best leagues in South America.

only league i see better than ecua's is argentina, brazil and possibly colombia, but the others don't come close! too bad kaviedes had to go, but still, we gave good matches and handed humilating defeats to peru's, chile's and brazil's top teams!
ok sure im pretty sure colmbia is clearly a better league ecuador is even with peru and chile(who has gone down a bit)
wow ecaudor is so much better than colombian league when was the last time one of there team got to the qaurter finals ? pretty much every team in colombia has been to the libertadores and gotten past group stage you have america, nacional, deportivo cali, millionarios, junior, santa fe, independiente medellin, tolima, and once caldas not to mention the participation of atletico bucaramanga, tulua, union magdalena, deportes quindio, and ateltico huila
cual es el promedio de asistencia a juegos que no sean en quito o guayaquil? ademas uds aun son muy pequenos, en terminos de torneo, como venezuela, solo que mas maduros en temas de futbol, y con un estadio como casa blanca que es de lo mejor de america. pero si te sales de guayaquil y Quito....no se puede decir nada bueno, o si?
