Home opener. No wins? No goals?

It's Dallas - all that changes.

I goal in three games by our protigious offenses. (And that by Rhine.) That, ladies, is suckiness.

Hopefully, there will be some scoring.

I have a feeling that the games this year will be a bit tighter. Dallas looks SLIGHTLY less wheels off.

Last year we didnt score much in our first few games but look what happened. We had a goal scoring party that game in KC and now we will have one in our home opener against Dallas. Its gonna happen.

Just FYI: you can always sit in Section 8. Even if the 'traditional' sections are sold out, purchasing tickets in 215 and 217 or the adjecent sections moving south behind the goal (119, 120, 121, etc.) are overflow for Section 8. In fact, the more sections are regularly sold on top of the base two, the more leverage we have with the team and stadium management and the better we can have those sections designated Section 8 full time.

So how are ticket sales going for this game overall? Is there any chance at 25k?

Just hearing 20 is more likely.

I need someone to help a brother out. I was hoping to get a magnet schedule from the game but I can't be there (I'm at the peak of my student teaching here in Iowa). So, if someone can get their hands on an extra one., I'd be happy to pay the postage for shipping it. Can't wait to get back after witnessing that second Champions Cup leg. WOW!

I see what you mean, but at the same time you'd be best off just buying tickets now and either moving over when you get there or discovering you actually are in the midst of things when you get there.

Just saying because it could very well be no one has tickets to spare.

I was reading that story from the Sun-Times today, and somethin popped into my head that I hadnt thought of before, how are all these road trips taking a toll on the guys? I mean this is their 4th road game in their last 5 between MLS and the CC, and some of them are prolly starting to get wore out, and its only the 2nd game of the season, just something that worries me any thoughts...?

I think at least for the away leg in Costa Rica it'll be a different bunch than have mostly played the first two regular season games.

Doing it all season is too much (as in the highest European and South American levels), but players, as a team at least, at that level generally need to be prepared to handle stretches where they do the Saturday-Wednesday-Saturday thing.

I'm hoping the fire don't blow their wad tonight in CR like they did in the last leg. We need them to score in the MLS also. On another note the weather on Saturday should be balmy. There should be a sizable crowd.

It's kind of funny, Saprissa has their big superclasico this Saturday too and they're playing a B (or A-) team because of it. Alajuela (their opponent) plays tonight as well. Just a funny circumstance.

Any insider report on field condition? Liam? Coz? Mr. Wilt? I remember reading that Soldier Field was saying that new sod would be laid down for Saturday's game, but like Duffman, Soldier Field says a lot of things.

Also, much like Duffman, the field can't breathe. Oh Yeah.

Seriously, I have no idea. No one's mentioned anything, but I know there were staffers at the stadium yesterday so there should be some indication soon.

Do you guys have any idea what the Fire lineup will look like? After playing in the CCC just days ago, will you be fielding a reserves lineup, or are you saving that for the home leg of the CCC? I assume Razov will play since he didn't play in Costa Rica, but I'd love to hear any other news you guys might have on the rest of the lineup.

On our side Gbandi is injured, believe it or not, so Behnke is likely to play. Consequently your goal scoring problems are not likely to continue. That aside, I think you will find our midfield much improved. If our finishing is on, we could win this game against your fatigued side.

    Regarding tifo for this game:

I think it would be great if instead of any chicago symbols we could make a giant collage/sign of a red heart.

Or maybe we could have a banner that says: "I liver New York"?

    No. Just bumper stickers.

"You see 'C' and think 'F'. What does 'F' stand for...it stands for Fire...also Fans...and also something else. It will confuse the players they see 'F' and think it stands for something else"

    Dallas = Appendix = F = Useless

  25. = unintelligable nonsense. Please restate your answer in the form of a question.
